i put a big pot of protein shake in the tank to see if they went all muscley... the next day they were trapped in a gooey strawberry nightmare (dont judge me i was 8)

Been to Abyss a few times, infact i bought my tank from there, the only thing is they don't have many cichlids. I went to the aquarium at cockfields farm on lees road between Ashton and Oldham yesterday. It was class. Loads of tropical and marine and good prices too.
At the moment i've got about a dozen malawi's (mainly mbunas), a firemouth, a texan, 2 eye-biters, a victorian, 3 catfish (a plec, a syno and a pictus) and about 16 yellow lab babies about an inch long.

Next time you go into Cockfields ask for Mike Donlan and tell him your a good friend of mine and he'll look after you Steve.

Marines can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. A fish only tank is easy to maintain more difficult than tropicals but easy enough. Keeping soft corals is a step up but again with the right equipment and care its easy enough. Keeping hard corals is difficult and not for the beginner. Keeping the right type of fish with the right type of corals and inverts isn't too difficult as long as you don't get carried away by the choice on offer like everyone always does and then it goes tits up very quickly.

I don't keep marines, but I have always been very impressed with the set-up at Oasis Aquarium on Great Clowes Street.
While nowhere near as big as B.A.S, they blow them away for quality!
