"Are Barcelona the best team ever?"

It will be interesting to see how many Barcelona players would get in a World 11 side.

I'd say Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and perhaps Puyol off the top of my head.

Buffon, A Cole, J Terry/C Puyol, N Vidic (sorry) G Chiellini, Xavi, Iniesta/Gerrard, Kaka, Ronaldo, Messi, Torres.

They are the best side i have seen. I have never seen anybody rip Arsenal apart like they did.

Are you apologising for picking someone off last years hype? Same can be said for Terry, Buffon, Kaka, Gerrard.

This Barca team would take the Brazil of 1970 or any other era apart. Too fast for the strolling Brazilians.

Milan 1989 with most of the Italian side plus the three flying Dutchmen were a great side too but not like this Barca.

It's a yes from me, or at least Barcelona 08/09.

Especially if the emphasis is put on the word TEAM. Ok, so they have Xavi, Iniesta, Messi. But you can bet your ass that if you removed all 3, they'd still be playing other teams off the park.

Brazil 1970, sure. But think about this: how could this Barcelona team get any better? Their play is consistently breathtaking. Brazil's was as well, but not more so - I honestly don't see how it could be.

And they're also f**king good at pressuring teams when they don't have the ball. I don't think I've ever seen a team that's so damn good at everything.

No. lol.

Hehe, Vidic is a bag of wank these days imo. Still good in the air but he looks a bag of nerves against anyone with pace, almost cost United the CC when he brought Abonglahor down early doors.

The team you are talking about are not even clear leaders of La Liga. You are claiming that the best team ever is only as good as a stuttering Real Madrid.

I doubt Messi would be given the freedom of the pitch against the likes of Baresi, Maldini, Tassotti, Costacurta and others. I also doubt the likes of Puyol and Pique would cope with Marco Van Basten.

Probably the best I have seen. If they win the Champions League and La Liga again this season I'd say that was the clincher. They are so comfortable on the ball and confident in team-mates' ability to hold possession under pressure. It makes it very hard to win the ball off them. And when a team with a player like Messi in can dominate a game like that it will always be hard to beat them.
