Are City taking an anti-SSN stance?

I think you are naive to think that our owners would continue to operate as they are if the sky money wasnt being pumped in. They are business men. Do you really think that they are city fans?

They are trying to make us the biggest club in the world knowing that investment now will lead to dividends in the future and as and when they come to sell.
rag alert

Tosspot alert

If that time ever comes, Sky will be kissing our arse FACT,
And if we become as successful as the owners want us to be, with all the money that comes in through that success we may well be self financing by then.

If we spend £100m tomorrow, it will feel like the owner has just spend a quid.

Obviously the owners want us to become self financing and profit making without a shadow. But at the end of the day we are not big enough YET that if Sky were to pull out of the TV deals and each club marketed their own games, that we would make more than what Sky brings in now. The aim could well be grow over the next 5 years, win things, and market as much as possible so that worldwide, if a mcfctv showing live games was to be marketed that the money would be greater than the sky income.

So for the minute and foreseeable future we need sky more than they need us

Our guys are no mugs, you are making it sound like they are,
If Sky folded tomorrow and we had to sell our own TV, our guys would do it, and do it well, they already have the contacts in place as MCTC is just 1 small piece of the Abu Dhabi portfolio.
There is more money bandied about for the live matches than Sky give the Prem, Ever watched a Saturday match in the pub ;-)

I know they are no mugs, jesus. Your making them sound like City fans though.

No doubt that they would sell MCFCTV well but our profile isn't big enough yet. Anyway I know our owners are no mugs which is why i convinced they would not intentionally piss off a major arm of revenue

Incorrect quotage - one about Cook stonewalling SSN!!
That is speculation because of one incident. Cook could have been due at another meeting or just wanted to get home - he has a daughter that he must be spending a lot of time away from. Maybe he was late for a meal with his wife. Lets not take this one incident as a sure sign that we are blanking sky - otherwise why say anything at all?

Ah, now it's you who sounds a bit naive. Cook is a marketing man. That's his job and he does it 24/7. When he walks out of the MCFC entrance just moments after we've announced snatching a major international from Man Utd, and is tackled by the waiting Sky Sports News reporter, he doesn't say 'I've just clocked off, mate. On me way home now. Talk to me when I've clocked on tomorrow morning, eh.'

He gave them nothing. Made them look stupid. And it was deliberate.

Just noticed that when Cook went to get into his car and away from the camaras as fast as he could he went to pull his car door open but it was locked. I found it humorous.

It's a double edged sword. I suspect SSN don't want to be reporting about City signings because it goes against the grain so to them no news from COMS is good news.

It's interesting that it's been full of Fergie and Michael Owen all day with Owen admitting he's been pretty shit for the last couple of years and Fergie moaning that he's spent up haha.

I'd love to know how the fook you know it was deliberate - if so why say anything. Did he talk to anyone because i doubt it was only sky trying to get a word? Just imagine for a second, he had to get to a meeting with another target. Would they be impressed if they were waiting round waiting for cook to come in the lounge of a hotel whilst watching the person you were meeting giving an interview about another player on the telly?
