Are expections too high for next season?

There are a lot of chickens being counted on these Champions League related threads. Lose today and the rags are right behind us. A continuation of our away form and/or a continuation of our preternatural injury jinx and it's conceivable we could fail to qualify for next year's CL with the nightmare scenario of all four signatories to the infamous Arsenal FFP letter qualifying.

So, in answer to the question, my expectation is limited to qualifying, or possibly re-qualifying, for the CL. Obviously my hope is that we will be in a position to do the quadruple.

It depends to some extent on where we finish this season.

5th Expect big clear out, possibly dodgy start as new players settle in and the remaining existing players adapt to his methods. Very strong 2nd half of season.

4th Overriding need to win CL qualifiers, with players who have mostly returned late from Copa America and Euros. Clear out of players will be drastically scaled back to ensure that there is a degree of continuity. Will go into season with sub optimum squad. Transitional season

3rd He will aim to have new squad settled before CL group stages get underway. Mini clear out. Might sacrifice a few early league points. Strong Group stage in CL will fuel PL performances.

This squad should have done much better even with the injuries we have had, so the minimum I expect is to challenge for the title next season.

No win the league and I would be happy cups are always a bonus, so if we never reached any of the semi finals of any next season I would be dissapointed but thats all. League all the way.

Minimum is to win the league, get to the latter stages of both domestic cups and CL semis at least.

This is "par" when you consider the squad he will inherit and the millions he will certainly lavish on New toys.

League and one cup would be a realistic achievment and not overperforming.

Winning the CL would be a good season.

If we miss out on the league cup next season I won't be to upset as he has to be given time to settle and learn the English game.
Pretty pissed off if he doesn't get the rest to be honest though.
He's meant to be a very good manager and we have a great squad. I guess if injuries are really bad he could sacrifice the FA cup.

We don't have a great squad. Barcelona, Madrid, Athletic, Munich have great squads. We have a very good squad. Too many treading water and too many injury prone players for us to have a "great" squad.

If mp can win the league in his first season then pep should be able to do it and thats what i want more than anything
Good run in the CL as well
Cups would be a bonus

I don't think this question can be answered until the summer window closes.

Personally I would like to see us bring through some of the younger players next season and the league cup should be used for this. It's nice to win it but it's not the be all and end all. The premier league and the champions league should always be the two priorities. If we don't qualify for the CL then the prem league should be the expectation or at least challenging for it which we have failed to do for two seasons.
