I think so ,For instance, the first choice goalkeepers in the Premier League are Edwin van der Sar (Manchester United - Dutch), Shay Given (Manchester City – Irish), Jussi Jaaskelainen (Bolton – Finnish), Tomas Sorensen (Stoke – Danish), Pepe Reina (Liverpool - Spanish, and his No.2 is Brazilian), Craig Gordon (Sunderland – Scottish), Carlo Cudicini (Tottenham – Italian, and his No.2 is Brazilian), Petr Cech (Chelsea - Czech Republic, his no.2 is Poruguese), Brian Jensen (Burnley - Danish ), Tim Howard (Everton – American), Brad Friedel (Aston Villa – American), Mark Scwarzer (Fulham – Australian), Wayne Hennessy (Wolves – Welsh), Boaz Myhil (Hull- Welsh).

Discuss.

Absolutly . The English game is doomed IMO. We need a limit on the number of foreigners in each team

I think every football fan would say that without the influx of some of these quality players, then the PL would never have been so worldwide watched.
No doubt that its fucked up our National Team, but untill its sorted out at "grass roots level" then we are never going to be the nation that finds more Rooneys,Lamps,Gerrards,Terry etc on a regular basis.
Yes I know !!
Get me tim hat on with mentioning the above names, but its there in reality.

Easy to blame the foreigner, I don't agree personally. If the foreigners weren't there, the standard would simply be lower.

The influx of foreign players has almost certainly hindered the National Team, but its helped City and the Premier League in general, so I'm all for it continuing - long may it last!

Nope. There just aren't enough top quality young English players coming through the system.
soz i disagree, there are plenty out there but all the big clubs choose to buy them in ,instant sucsess is now the norm.

id say this is true in arsenals case, but a lot of the other clubs are doing a lot to bring english/british players through.
leeds seem to do well at bringing players through the ranks at the moment.
