Are we going to see the end of Season Tickets?

So, are we now heading fully to a subscription style ticket system, that grant you access to buy tickets on a priority basis?

If we get an Away Days Scheme (copyright Me), for a rumoured ballot for away games, that'll be another one.....

Ballots and memberships create extra revenue and keep ticket prices up if you have sufficient demand. Instead of simply shutting up shop, like 35k season tickets, you give the illusion of having a chance to 100s of thousands instead. A flexi card allows you to attend a nice 8 or so games a season instead of the pesky 19, getting in the way.

It's coming, mark my words, the club is pioneering a whole new way of selling tickets. Unsure it's a good thing.
It’s fucking not a good thing.

I’d rather the boardroom all fucked off and ruined some other fanbase than stay here and ruin ours.

Why do you believe this is the case?

Why do you believe this is the case?

good question. I don't know. it's just a hunch and a way to contribute to the forum. I freely admit it's based on nothing but direction of travel in a commercialised world.

I won't be renewing my season ticket for the first time in 32 years !

various reasons -

1. I can go to any game anyway at the Hammers, most easy to get on website individually and as a member and i know loads that have ST that always selling
2. Just don't enjoy going! can't be arsed getting the train and the cost, sitting around moaning fans and have not enjoyed it for a long time now (ironically in a period for us Hammers that has been great)
3. My dad died few months ago - he was really the only reason i continued to renew my ST, didn't want him sitting on his own.
4. TV coverage is really good, we all knock Sky/TNT etc but i find them great channels to view games. Going to pretty much every home game, travelling to most stadiums in the country - i am more than happy if someone wants to now label me as an armchair fan.
5. rather go pub some games, be around mates that i can have a laugh with and if we're getting stuffed i can go play pool and have a beer instead.
6. My enthusiasm has gone really - if we lose we lose. if we win then great. It's all out my hands. can't be arsed wasting life getting enraged about a defeat or VAR decision.
7. I got newborn and a kid, travel alot with work, run alot of races, lifes too busy.
I couldn't agree more! Live in Essex but Mancunian born and bred. Followed City since 1967....had a season ticket as a kid right up to leaving Manchester in 1982 but got one again with my son just before the Sheikh bought us! Travel up to every home PL game and later stage cup games, but getting fed up with the whole 'corporate' approach now, Tourist fans with their half-half scarves that rock up about a minute before KO, then dick about trying to find their seats! Can't get away game tickets yet 'Barcelona' fans get 8 seats together at Anfield! The die hard supporter doesn't seem to be of interest to the club anymore!
