I know it is early days in the transfer window but I cant help wondering if we are missing our primary targets?
Sneijder is reported to be contemplating a wage drop to join United?
The club management seem to have invested a lot of time with Sanchez but we seem to have been turned down by the player?
and the Tevez situation is still not resolved, it is possible he will leave us high and dry late in the summer?
There are a relatively small pool of "world class" players out there and we are in competition with world famous CL clubs. At present we must seriously outbid our rivals to persuade the world's best players to come to us.
When we win the PL or CL they will come easily and we can put the brakes on our spending. If the "accountants rule" to early, I fear we will not get the players we need.
I know it may sound spoilt, I'm trying to have patience and I realise the management have a difficult balancing act. I hope we start getting our targets soon!

As far as I'm concerned, anyone that's been linked already is pure speculation and whether they are targets or not, only the club knows. So honestly, how would we, the fans, know if we're missing out on our (100% guaranteed) targets, when we don't even know what our targets are?

Your post sounds desperate, yet ive highlighted you are trying to be patient.
It is the time of year now where the football scene takes a holiday, players, agents, lawyers, accountants, sponsors etc, all the people who these days make transfers happen, the media have fuck all to say so make up a load of bollocks to fill the columns, there are 4 clubs in the Prem after the top players in the world, even the simplest of people know that,
There have been no quotes from Sneidjers people this summer, There have been no quotes from Tevez this summer (his agent is a nerk and we should disregard anything he says) so where does the news come from, thin fucking air.

Heres a headline for you, 'City interested in Drogba', Why are we interested, because hes 1 of the top strikers in europe, there are no quotes, there is no facts, just sheer speculation, and weve got about another 5 weeks of speculation to read.

Sanchez was according to ITK´s and media alike a serious target..but I don´t blame him for trying to move to Barca.
Then we have Sneijder, most agree that he would prefer the rags but Modric might be their main target according to some.

As for the rest, It´s mainly speculation..

here,here....pointless getting worked up about what is,at the end of the day, total 100% speculation. the media boys now know stories about City sell papers, especially negative stories. as with last summer, enjoy the guess work, but know that City are run in a proffesional way and will release information about transfers when they are ready

I assume the players we're after are being targeted by the biggest clubs. City maybe a bigger fish, but we've moved into Tiger Shark waters.

Hard to say how we re doing. Tolmie is the only source this board has who can be relied upon. The papers just copy and paste and at best get used by agents. They are totally unreliable.

Why worry? It's June

My main worry is Carlos leaving us in the lurch late in the window,
That could be a mess.

I would forget about Sneijder if the possibly of Cesc is there,
Sneijder has made it clear who he wants to play for so I wouldn't waste time on him.

I know Arguero has stated that he would like to stay in Spain but an offer in for him should still be made, even if Carlos is still undecided Sergio would be a serious addition to the team.

Either way, I would relax and not get to worried, I think the OP forgets our spending power. Take into consideration most of these players won't decide what they are doing until have the internationals and there holiday.

I remember you said in another post something like the "accountants are in charge" I just fear if this is the case we will lose our opportunity to push for the title.
You can be sure all our rival clubs with CL aspirations will be strengthening dramatically.

There's always a good second choice, some you can argue would have as much impact as the first choice. Like if we miss out on the Sanchez, Pastore, or Sneijder types, we can still get the Mata, Hazard, Modric types. And then there are those like Fabregas who we aren't sure about who could be possibilities. We'll have some good signings by the end of the window.
