Are we in danger of missing our main transfer targets?

Sanchez was according to ITK´s and media alike a serious target..but I don´t blame him for trying to move to Barca.
Then we have Sneijder, most agree that he would prefer the rags but Modric might be their main target according to some.

As for the rest, It´s mainly speculation..
I remember you said in another post something like the "accountants are in charge" I just fear if this is the case we will lose our opportunity to push for the title.
You can be sure all our rival clubs with CL aspirations will be strengthening dramatically.

Well, the accountants are in charge there as well..and in particular at OT.
Perhaps not for exactly the same reason (FFPR) but nevertheless.

Chelsea seem to have thrown their accountant out the window, and Liverpool seem very busy so far.
Dalgleish, Wenger and Ferguson are shrewd cookies who will normally get good value from their transfers. Is it correct that most of the big PL clubs have better established scouting and recruiting networks worldwide?

Sit back and enjoy the ride. It's not like last summer, we're in a position of strength this time around with an excellent squad already assembled and CL football to come. The truth is I expect this window to be relatively quiet compared to previous windows (as stated by the chairman).
I'm a KFA but I think it's safe to say we'll see 2 minimum, 4 maximum.
I think the main focus will be on getting the best deals out of the large amount of players leaving the club this summer, and since we seem to have accumulated quite a few under worked and over paid 'stars' it won't be easy shifting them. Good luck Gary!

I am not worried at all. We have a strong club, and the addition of 1 or 2 serious players will keep us in play with any of the teams out there with the exception of Barca.

There are at least 40 prospects of similar quality who will not be playing CL next year, any 2 of them will put us in good stead, and I expect we will sign 3 or 4 players.

Off the top of my head: Sanchez, Pastore, Sneidjer, Aguero, Kaka, Honda, Nzobgia, Montolivo, Hamsik, Coentrao, Fabregas, Nasri, Hazzard,, Young, Vertonghen, Modric, Mata, Carzola, Goetze, Neymar, Wiel, Gervihno, Marvin, Dzudczek, Bryan Cruz, Gaitan, Shaqira, Enrique, baines, Vargas, Costa, Perrotti, Martinez, Cahill, Hulk, Rolando, Falcao, Witsel, DeBruynne, Vasquez, Alcantara, Lukaku, Sien and Luuk De Jong, Castanglios, Cissokho, Lucas, Lovren, Pjanic, Zarate, Issiguire, Elia, Phil Jones, Cavani, Lavezzi, Illicic, Bastos, Canales, Arda Turan, Willian, Douglas, Banega, Bale, Bruno Cesar, Iturbe, Ghannasay, Jovetic, Ljajic, Assamoah, Jarvis, Sahko, Kjear, Cheillini etc.
Are all players that can help us. Most of them will not be in Champs league and those that are may still be interested in switching clubs. So no worries here. We first have to deal with our excess weight before we go adding more cargo :)

The list is frankly inxuastible. Sure we wouldn't get all of them, and not even some we really wanted or really should have wanted, but we are a strong team now, and 3 good mix of the above list is sure to improve our overall squad, and it will. We all tend to zero in on our favorites, and mine is unapologetic-ally "Javier Pastore" but a good haul of some of the players on that list or even others I failed to mention, or don't even know yet, will improve us greatly.

I am not worried, just hopeful...

That we get Pastore :P

Its good to see such optimism. I suppose before our wealthy owners there was little expectation. Now we can offer CL football its hard waiting to see the "world class" players who will be joining us!
Impressive list Dax!

I may be wrong with this but reading between the lines on Sanchez it seems to me that Marwood/Cook had earmarked him and Mancini and Lambardo don't want him, Lambardo has come out and said "he's not good enough for the Prem ATM", he wouldn't say that if Mancini wanted him. All these top players that are looking to move are playing their cards close to the their chest in the hope of getting the best deal at the best club possible, don't panic we'll be ok.

Reading between the lines I wondered whether Lombardo was playing the tactic"we're not that interested" in an attempt to get Udinese to lower their outrageous fee demands???

It's early days yet, even if we miss out on Sanchez there'll be other equally good players coming here. I wouldn't worry.

It´s more or less the other way around I think but we have standing offers for some players, they might accept them or not..Sanchez at €25m perhaps?

If they choose to look disinterested so are we, no longer will we be hold to ransom.
