are we wasting this window?

Mate Roberto Mancini basically prostituted himself as an interim appointment when he met Khaldoon. He knows he is just keeping the seat warm.
Ignorant twat. Mancini is well known to ADUG and was always going to be our first choice manager if the special one could not be persuaded to come. If he makes the Top Six without having to spend the 100 million in the January transfer window (that Hughes wanted to spend), Mancini will be here for the long haul...unless of course he gets chased away by our fickle supporters.
thought the revised target was top 4!

i'm worried about our targets/ non signings, we have a fantastic chance to finish in the top 4 yet i feel we are'nt really "going for it".
of course its early days but i just feel uneasy, we know our weaknesses, we can buy the best in every department yet it seems all so quiet, if not quiet our targets are scary.

i dont know about anyone else but i was really looking forward to this window, it just seems to be passing us by, we can't let this chance go, it would be just criminal.

thoughts?

I don't think we need to alter much now we have a manager who sees the game and knows his tactics. With the addition of Viera I honestly think we can have a serious go at the League this year.

The problem is you can buy too many players, we have been very active in the last two windows and I think we need to settle down a bit. Come the summer we will (or at least the manager will) have a better idea of what one/two players will turn us into title winning side. Plus in the summer we should have CL football as an incentive for the top guys to join us.

Chill Bill.

It's only the 8th de niro!

The type of player we need realisticly isn't going to be available in January. If that means waiting until the summer to get them so be it. Now Vieira's in I can only see one coming in if that. The injuries are easing now and these players have got us this far so let's see what these players can do. If Mancini can get an extra 15/20% out of the players we have we will be there or there abouts.

i posted this in an earlier thread and i believe we all ready have a top 4 squad maybe a tweak or 2 here and there but we need nothing drastic happening to the squad at this moment!

Shay Given

Micah Richards
Joleon Lescott
Kolo Toure
Wayne Bridge

Shaun Wright-Phillips
Nigel de Jong
Gareth Barry
Robinho

Emmanuel Adebayor
Carlos Tevez

Stuart Taylor

Pablo Zabaleta
Vincent Kompany
Nedum Onuoha/Dedryck Boyata
Sylvinho/Javier Garrido

Vladimir Weiss
Stephen Ireland
vieria
Martin Petrov

Craig Bellamy
Roque Santa Cruz

This thread has turned into a points scoring head to head and as most of us now know Roberto is here for the long haul. Do you all not think he knows every weakness in the squad and how to fix it with better players for the future. This would be silly buying know when the ones he wants may not be available till the summer.Fancy spending £75 million now when he really wants to spend £125 million in the summer buying Maicon Torres and Vidic for example.

The owners of the club want results week in week out and siverwear delivered similar to our rivals across the road so why on earth would they bring in maybe Jose Mourinio when we already have the best manager proven at the club in Roberto Mancini.

The squad does have room for improvement and by the start of next season we will have finished in the top 4 and won a final .To take off in Europe and push for the title with two new full backs .CB ..Mid field right sided..top striker.. a top stand in goalkeeper.

IN the meantime is as normal onwards and UPwards.

the point is we don't really know if he is here for the long haul?????

Wheelsy, de Niro and Didsbury Dave are all responsible, well connected posters, not Hughes diehards either as far as I know.
If they have formed the view that Roberto is a willing stop-gap, happy to sign up to sky-high targets (and without the full and extensive backing he needs to achieve them) I for one would like to know how they came to their understanding of his allegedly precarious position.

Our manager is an experienced & highly regarded professional, it would be unusual to say the least if he agreed to such a shabby short-term deal.

Don't spare our feelings chaps, please justify your collective scepticsm.

who exactly would Mancini be a stop-gap to? Who do people rate higher, Mourinho, who said he would rather manage our hated neighbors?

Yeah, Wheelsy is as connected as it gets. What with him being in Australia and having been to about 4 games in his life and all that.
