Are you a manc

Haha ;-) Seriously , it's weird how someone born and raised no more than 8 miles away from myself can sound so different . I'm always taking the piss out of my neighbours regarding their accent . If I say no , it sounds like 'know' . Where as my neighbours will say it like 'nooore' .
I got a taxi to 'GREENACRES' last week , and the driver was laughing and said ' you mean GRINIKERS ' ? I told him I'm a manc and I'll stick with 'GREENACRES' thank you very much (fuckin' yonners) ;-)

Tell me about it. Im from Chorlton originally but just moved to Stalybridge.

The Greenacres thing is one of a few. Heyrod is Herod. Slaithwaite is slowet or some nonsense.

Chumps

Born at hope lived in monton till i was 7 then moved to the poshplace we call cheshire.

I consider myself manc.
And my mum shouts at me for saying Manchestoh! got to pretend were posh you see

Now live in Glossop but born and grew up in Droylsden so I consider myself a Manc.

Although I do take great delight in asking all the Glossop rags why when they live in Derbyshire do they support a team from Salford.

If you was born in here, and was schooled here for your primary education, you're an official manc.

North Manc (Middleton) = Manc. Now an ex-pat, but definitely a Manc.

There are obviously better Mancs than me, like there are better City fans than me, but I've never felt affiliated to Rochdale (the council) or Oldham (the nearest maternity ward). It's all down to how you feel. Otherwise, you'd only be a Manc if every single one of your ancestors had been born, lived and died within the confines of a few square miles. I'm sure someone here will lay claim to this....
