Are You Doing Anything To Protest About The Latest Season Ticket Price Increase?

In a 13 month accounting period, not 12

And as I've already said, it makes no difference to the club if it posts a £1m profit or £200,000
And who told you this? Khaldoon or Mansour himself?

Laughable. I’d assume they are aiming for more than sliding in under the worse for profits!

City changed their accounting date from 31 May to 30 June to come into line with all the other group companies. They said at the time that it impacted the bottom line by around £10m, so we should have made £11m profit rather than £1m.

Did we plead with Soriano for that additional security? And what was the excuse when they raised prices the other none times over the past ten years?
Raising prices by none times sounds pretty fucking good to me. I'm sure you and jrb can find fault though. Your ilk always do. Why not do the simple thing: quit whining, cough up or stay at home.

Trust the teacher to spot that!

And your ilk will drop their kecks, bend over and spread their arse-cheeks as wide as they can when Soriano clicks his fingers.

I'm am coughing up but I'm only doing league games. Not paying for any cup games so I'm staying at home for those. That's my choice as a consumer.

Can you justify that rise? They even raised the prices by £20 when they got £55m extra from the PL last season.

You're renewing. The rest is wind.

No, I'd love that. ;-)

I definitely come across as a moaning miserable bastard, but deep down I want the best for our fans, and that includes affordable season tickets and matchday tickets.

I've accepted the club has to increase prices, make a profit, and generate revenues, after all it is a business now, but with all the £100's of millions, sorry £billions, sloshing around the PL, the CL, and sponsorship deals, is another 3% rise, or £800k, really necessary from the fans next season?

As I've already pointed out, nothing against Yaya, as I love the guy to bit's, but why give him a final farewell season contract of £X, if he is going to sit on the bench for most of this season?

Guessing, Yaya's one season farewell contract is probably in the region of £5.2 million(pay, bonuses, etc) Even if it was half that, it would still be £2.6 million. So what exactly is the £800k from the fans paying for next season, minus Yaya's wages? Inflation? More Stewards? A better matchday experience? More stadium display's? Security scanners that actually work? Etc?

Ignore the happy clappers @jrb.

There are people on here who'd suck cock if someone walked up to them with a City badge on and told them they worked in the City shop.

Thankfully there are plenty of City fans who support you on this and do care about the fact that tickets have gone up 10 out of 11 years, and hopefully when the club sees how many people fuck off the cup schemes and see how bad the atmosphere's become, they might rethink what 'customers' they want.

Exactly. I’m far from a serial moaner but there are some fans who think the club can never put a foot wrong and every single person who works there is perfect. Which is utter bollocks. I and a few others have a line of communication into the club and there are some fantastic people who work there for sure. But not everyone who works there covers themselves in glory - there are people there who are so far out of touch with the regular football fan that it’s untrue.

It just shows the fickle nature of some on here because if you look at the equivalent thread 12 months ago when we finished a distant third and didn’t win a trophy, the outrage over season ticket price increases was far more widespread.

I’ll also make the point that while I would never advocate attacking the club in an umconstructive manner over this, if there was absolutely no resistance from fans to price increases then that would give them carte blanche to ramp them up even more in future. The only reason we got a price freeze 2 years ago was because of the visual protest against PSG prices and the wide-reaching campaign on social media. Lo and behold - ticket prices for the next CL game against Real Madrid were reduced and a price freeze on season tickets was announced.

Some people need to open their eyes to the idea that fan activism - if done diplomatically - can work. In addition to the above example, it is entirely because of fan activism that we now only pay a maximum of £30 for our Premier League away tickets. Of course, one could either embrace fan activism or bend over and keep taking it up the arse. It's a free country after all.

Have to laugh at that! Are you talking punters or owners now?

£30 increase in a season ticket over 12 months is £2.50 a month. You are fucking kidding me that punters can’t save £2.50 a month that they would have otherwise “pissed up the wall on things that aren’t needed!”

You do understand, right? THEY have a business and YOU have money. They set a price, you decide if you can live with it. When they overshoot your nut, then you decline. If others do the same thing, the businessman realizes that he is losing customers, so he either hikes prices to cover lost customers or lowers prices to keep attracting them. This is how the world works, be it City, the busses, the trains, the Apple Store, wherever.

If we have reached your nut, I’m sure you will be missed by some, but it appears there are others in line willing to pay the price.

I’m sorry if that sounds callous, but this is a multi-billion pound business and supply and demand will dictate prices, to a certain extent. Beyond that, it is the commercial offsets that might save you a few quid.

People complain about Swales not being able to run the club and it all being about mates and old boys running the show with a lack of financial and professional acumen. Well, now you have one of the best business men in the world running the show and he has transformed Manchester City into something that would have been fanciful at best a decade ago...yet that boss gets pilloried here, too?!?

So, what is the sweet spot between everyone being happy with low prices and the club being run so it can win everything in sight every year and still make money for the owner who has invested billions???

Whatever number you come up with, it will be too much for someone, so what’s the answer, if not supply and demand and staying in,one with your competition....all while offering a few thousand of the cheapest seasoncards in the country to watch the best team in the country?

I give up!
Sound polemic
