Are You Doing Anything To Protest About The Latest Season Ticket Price Increase?

Exactly so why are the club so desperate for it?

I have no doubt the increase effects the supporters more than it does the club.

Someone said it will accrue 800k, if that is the case it 4 weeks of Yayas wages for a player sat on the bench every week.

That's a fair view on things but i doubt the club would raise it 3% for no reason and as we all know every little helps towards FFP or FFP2 whatever they call it now. Also if the 800k figure is correct then that pays for the add on bonus we owe to shalke for Sane winning the league so that's a little extra in the kitty towards something else.

What has any other club's pricing policy got to do with ours?

it has a lot to do with it. The club are going to be looking at maximising income from all sources and if people in the north west are prepared to pay £X for an inferior product at Liverpool, Everton and the rags, then they will be looking to charge similar. It's a business and businesses will charge what the market can bear.

Equally, we'll be looking at what other clubs get for their kit deals and try to get a deal that matches.

We don't charge less than every other club though, as I've said a number of times. Yes - there are some cheap tickets, maybe 2,500-3,000 but outside those we are comparable with United, Liverpool & Chelsea. In fact we have dearer standard ST's than all of those.

Our range outside the cheap tickets (for non-hospitality seats) is £530-£1370. For comparison:
Rags are £532-£950
Chelsea are £595-£1250
Liverpool are £685-£869

So can we stop spouting this "We're cheaper than everyone else" myth.
Well, I’m watching about two dozen people bitching on here, so they are plenty of cheaper season tickets for them, right? 100 a piece!!

OR...do people want to sit where they want to sit, eat what they want to eat, drink what they want to drink, smoke what they want to smoke, etc, etc, etc...for less? Well of course they do!

Welcome to the Real World we all inhabit!

And, I’ve spojen out before about ticketing schemes, but the powers that be have determined £XXX is the price, so eat it or don’t, but it’s not going to change, and it is probably definitely not going to get cheaper!

This is life.

Cut your cloth accordingly, and don't piss the money up the wall on things that aren't needed, while asking the fans to pay for inflation rises and operating costs. Really?

Have to laugh at that! Are you talking punters or owners now?

£30 increase in a season ticket over 12 months is £2.50 a month. You are fucking kidding me that punters can’t save £2.50 a month that they would have otherwise “pissed up the wall on things that aren’t needed!”

You do understand, right? THEY have a business and YOU have money. They set a price, you decide if you can live with it. When they overshoot your nut, then you decline. If others do the same thing, the businessman realizes that he is losing customers, so he either hikes prices to cover lost customers or lowers prices to keep attracting them. This is how the world works, be it City, the busses, the trains, the Apple Store, wherever.

If we have reached your nut, I’m sure you will be missed by some, but it appears there are others in line willing to pay the price.

I’m sorry if that sounds callous, but this is a multi-billion pound business and supply and demand will dictate prices, to a certain extent. Beyond that, it is the commercial offsets that might save you a few quid.

People complain about Swales not being able to run the club and it all being about mates and old boys running the show with a lack of financial and professional acumen. Well, now you have one of the best business men in the world running the show and he has transformed Manchester City into something that would have been fanciful at best a decade ago...yet that boss gets pilloried here, too?!?

So, what is the sweet spot between everyone being happy with low prices and the club being run so it can win everything in sight every year and still make money for the owner who has invested billions???

Whatever number you come up with, it will be too much for someone, so what’s the answer, if not supply and demand and staying in,one with your competition....all while offering a few thousand of the cheapest seasoncards in the country to watch the best team in the country?

I give up!
