hahahahahaha stuey, your missus is at ours,, me being your top mate, have just shown her what you put!! get in that doghouse mate!

I was in trouble with the missus' mother the other week. She had a real go at me and said to me "Is it true that for her birthday you actually took her to see City, knowing that she hates football?"

I said no, that's not true at all, she's lying. It was City reserves.

You need to make it clear from the start

City are my first love, I have had highs and lows with them that I will never experience in any other area of my life. City were there before you came along and will not be cast aside for you.

Once you have made that clear remind them they accepted that at the beginning and you have always been honest about it :-)

Doesn't always help but they can't argue with it!!!!

Well said, i totally agree.

I set the standard when we first got together and put her straight! First is City they will always be there she might not. She understands and actually have City games on her calendar so she knows when I will and won't be there!

I have also been to two games on her birthday one away at West Ham and the other away at Wigan dont think she appreciated that too much lol!!

That's what I did too. He knew I was City mad when we met, and I made it clear no man was ever coming between me and my Blue boys. When I moved up here to marry him, I also made it clear I wasn't giving up my ST.

Happily he's nuts about his own football so he has no problem with any of this.

It's great 'cos for birthday treats we both get to enjoy - my last one was an England game at Wembley, before that it was hospitality for the clash of our two clubs. This year it was the new away shirt and for Christmas I want the England shirt.

Surely having a partner who loves football makes it nice and EASY for the other - just avoid any holidays/events in footballs season and buy anything football/club related and they'll be yours for ever. :P

The missus has told me twice now that she's leaving me, both times after the derby, she claims I drink too much and become very aggressive, I had to point out that we lost the games so f off.
Then further pointed out that even with her gone, City will always be there for me. I can't remember some of my ex's names but I remember the City line up from that period.

I am married to City and I've stuck with her through the skint part of "for richer or poorer, now I'm starting to enjoy being well off :)
