I’m not gonna judge Messi on one game here, and we all know how to good a player he has been in his career, phenomenal...

But at the same time, he is mid 30’s and playing in a league where it’s a one horse race. I’m quite interested to see how much he actually has left when it comes to facing stiff competition. Whether it’s at this World Cup or deeper in the champions league. As they say in boxing, Father Time is undefeated.

Not that anybody would consider Saudi Arabia stiff competition, but they are fired up probably more than a French league team would be. But he hasn’t exactly ran the game or looked anything like he used to, so far. He still has obvious quality though, so you see flashes of it.

99% of offside decisions are already correct, and it's more than that with VAR on goals, so I don't know why you think it's going to level anything.

The biggest thing it does is speed the game up and stop cretins from whining about every linesman that officiates there side being bent.

nah, its the opposite, some of our suporters, especially during the game loves to moan and pretend they know better how to teach set pieces. Statistics are irrelevant for them, because generally they live in their own world;)
