Hello all Man City fans!

I hope you guys can come to Thessaloniki and support your team, it will be a good experience for you guys. You don't need to worry about hooligans and that kind of stuff, Aris is not like the other clubs in Greece. We treat all visitors very well. The only ones that had some problems were those polish idiots we played against in elimination round, they just went there to fight and they ended up in jail.

Thessaloniki is a beautiful city with plenty of things to do and hope you guys will enjoy some beers at our own pub outside the stadium.

We will easily fill the section that we will get for the away game in Manchester. We were 10 000 in Munich against Bayern. We took over Olimpico in Rome when we were in the second division. In last years final we were more than Panathinaikos fans in their own stadium, we were about 30 000 in Athens that day. We are not like the other Greek fans that disappear just because they don't go well. 40 years without a title and we are still faithful. I believe you guys know how it feels.

Could be my first game of the season (for obvious reasons). I'm the only ex-pat blue living on this island (Zakynthos).

Should be interesting.......

Question for the Aris fans ......looking for your ground on 'google earth' found that Iraklis are also in Thessalonika (Iraklis sounds more like an island to be honest!) Do Aris, PAOK, Iraklis equally dislike each other or is the rivalry more intense between certain clubs??

Aris Fans- Bit of a long shot but was over on holiday about 4 years ago in October and while eating in a Taverna saw a free kick scored by an Aris player from about 40 yards away just on the edge of the centre circle. No idea who scored it possibly a Brazilian. If you know the goal is the guy still there? I looked on youtube when I got home but found nothing. Without doubt the best free kick I've ever seen.

Aris and paok are the 2 biggest teams of the city so the rivalry between those 2 teams are much bigger than with Iraklis. Iraklis don't have alot of fans.

I think you are talking about this goal:

He is not playing for us anymore. But we have Neto that is one of best freekick takers in the league. He scored with freekicks in the last 2 league games.

first of all hello from thessaloniki to .M.City fans!!
Aris is the name of better known Mars, the god of war,Aris in greek ,Mars on latin.
Iraklis is the name Hercules!!they were the first team founded in thessaloniki, under the name of iraklis, the demigod.

So when our team founded Aris name chosen cause he was a god!god of war.

Although iraklis is much weaker as a presence,Aris and paok are the 2 big rivals, with much hate betweeen them.the games with iraklis is just in matter of dislike.

Your fans are welcome to our stadium,we dont have problem with no one, unless someone wants troubles,we can offer hospitality and plenty of beers!!:)

A warm hello to the Man City supporters out there!

Here in Thessaloniki, we are getting impatient already for the two games with Man City in February.

Be sure that the Man City supporters who will come to Thessaloniki will be treated with the utmost respect, as ARIS FC is dedicated towards that direction.

Cheers!
