Aris Fans- Bit of a long shot but was over on holiday about 4 years ago in October and while eating in a Taverna saw a free kick scored by an Aris player from about 40 yards away just on the edge of the centre circle. No idea who scored it possibly a Brazilian. If you know the goal is the guy still there? I looked on youtube when I got home but found nothing. Without doubt the best free kick I've ever seen.

I think you are talking about this goal:

He is not playing for us anymore. But we have Neto that is one of best freekick takers in the league. He scored with freekicks in the last 2 league games.

The first one has the power and the second has the distance of the shot but the other side was I remember now in white and Aris in all yellow.

No worries. Enjoy the games against us, I'm sure we all will win or lose.

Great to hear from all the Aris fans on here, really looking forward to this game.

I flew to Thessaloniki last May as I got married in Halkidiki (Sani Beach) and had a wonderful two weeks i'll never forget, I had a feeling City would draw Aris or PAOK back then.

Unfortunately I did not get to visit the City but hoping to be over for the game and spend some time there.

My two previous trips to Greece with Rangers to AEK and Panathanikos were both horror trips.I dont want to scaremonger but take care in Greece, I have been to over 40 euro aways and I rate Greece and Belgrade the top of the dodgy list

Aris is a big club in Greece and therefore embraces all levels of society; but generally speaking Aris is considered to have the best fans in Greece.

Traditionally, Aris has a middle to upper class fan base and we are proud of it.
This doesn't mean that there not exist any thugs within our fans, simply much-much fewer than exist in other clubs.

Paok and Aek fans are the worst fans in Greece always creating troubles wherever they go.

So have no doubt, there will be no trouble unless you ask for it. If you behave then you will have a good time and perhaps a few drinks together with us. You are welcome to our city and stadium.

Hoping its a good game but your lot lose though, if your a'int lost in Europe in 42 years your due.

He's a PM I got from one of their fans, very helpful indeed.

There are many hotels in the city and almost all of them are in the centre of the city. You can check at that link http://www.saloniki.org/en/hotel/lux.htm

I can't suggest a hotel cause i live in the city and i never needed to use one.

About the nightlife.... you're going to stay at the center.... center is heaven. You can choose what ever you want. Restaurants, bars, cinema. It's a small city and you can find everything by walkining around . For me the best bar is "Dizzy Dolls" at LADADIKA.... but i'm a fan of rock, hard rock, heavy metall music. This is the best place to drink and listen that kind of music. There are many bars and beer places at "LADADIKA-ΛΑΔΑΔΙΚΑ". Close to that you can also find Valaoritoy street where are plenty of bars and places to eat. Everyone knows these places. If you type LADADIKA at Google Earth you'll see the place.

If you want to see the city, that depends from your time. You can walk at the center, but if you choose to see the old city you must use a bus or take a cab.

The easyest way to go to the ground is by bus.... It''s the number 10(ΧΑΡΙΛΑΟΥ-Ν.Σ. ΣΤΑΘΜΟΣ) bus that leaves you just outside the ground and into ARIS fans arms.... but i believe you are going to be quiet safe with us...

The other way is to take a cab.

The two teams agreed about the tickets.

Aris will get 3500 for the game in Manchester. And you guys will get 800 for the game in Greece.

We will probably be more than 3500 because plenty of Aris fans from around the world will go there. And from what I've read you guys wont fill the stadium so that wont be a problem. How can we buy tickets directly from City? and which section will be ours?

Aris would have given City more tickets if we could but I don't think that section can take more than 800. And the rest of the stadium will be completely full.

Looking forward to the games. I will book my ticket soon :)

you sure about 800 mate we were looking at around 1200, your lads when u come will probably be behind goal in south stand if you look through thread you will find pictures posted, alas your ground seems a bit on small side for major games but we,re comin you,ll be able to treat us to a pint.

Well that's what I heard, but nothing official. I hope many Man City fans can come, it will be a nice evening. I'm not sure that the away section can take 1200 or even if it does the police usually asks for a part to be empty for security reasons.

EDIT: I just read that City are satisfied with the 800 tickets. But the 3500 tickets for the fans of Aris will probably be bigger.
