They seem to be taking the approach of slowly and gently releasing information that he's staying, making it obvious and letting the fans negative reaction get drawn out over a few weeks/months so that by the time he does announce (probably after a couple of positive results) everyone will just be resigned to it already.

Feel very confident that they'll finally drop out of the top 4 this season though, and have no idea how that'll go down.

Spot on.

Many of their current and ex players are coming out and supporting Wenger. Saying how great he is, what he has done for the club, etc. Wenger signing an extension is great news for every team competing for top 4.

Also don't think they'll make top 4 this season and might not make it next season especially with Sanchez leaving. He has 18 goals and 9 assists in the league which is amazing. Without him they would be much, much lower in the table. They will struggle to replace him.

Yeah, they'll lose Sanchez and keep Ozil but on a huge salary.

Which is hilarious to be honest as I don't think any club better than Arsenal would want Özil so if he manages to get a big wage bump they've been royally ripped off - but they can't afford for both to leave.

So,where is Sanchez going to go? Remain in England or move to Europe? it's a huge money move for some club to negotiate not easy to match players wage expectations.

haha saw some rumors that he is looking to double his wages. Ridiculous considering he goes missing in all the important matches.

We are in for some nice entertainment with Sanchez leaving, Wenger signing a new deal, Arsenal finishing outside the top 4. Can't wait.

He won't get the wages he's after at Juve or Bayern, although both clubs show more ambition which would solve the frustration part.

Just heard Wenger on the radio and it struck me that in all the time he has managed here his accent remains unchanged. Whereas Schteve McLaren was fluent in Anglo-Dutch in about a fortnight

He probably talks like the lads off Arsenal fan TV when he's off-camera, get me fam?

"Retirement is dying." Fuck Arsene! My old man retired after 45 years and just picked up the old tennis racket again. It's not like your being asked to manage in Detroit.

I do understand their frustration, they are paying the highest prices in England for tickets and consistently bottling every chance they get. But they aren't a bad team by any description. Arsenal Fan TV has made them all look idiots, always either the best team ever or worse than a Sunday league team. They're only setting themselves up for a fall, what happens when Wenger's gone and they finish 7th? do they sack that guy straight away as well? They've set the club up for profit so they're not gonna give a top coach loads of money to make them a title winning team so I doubt they'd attract a Simeone, more likely a Laurent Blanc. It'll be great to see them implode though when Wenger signs his new contract.
Under the Glazers, the rags took the approach of spending as little as possible to remain in the top 4 and get through to the last 16 of the CL but then us and Spurs came along and Baconface left. Noe they're spending big trying (& failing) to get back there. It's like chasing gambling losses.

Arsenal have adopted the same approach of doing just enough to stay relevant but it's looking like it's finally going to fail this season. So what do they do this summer when the prospect of being something like £60m down starts to bite?
