Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

This is going to be a long night

Good workout not much else other to say than before the kick-off it was a meaningless game for me after the game it's still the same City had nothing win or lose but to gain 90 minutes in the legs will do for me,

I thought it was a good workout. Most importantly there appears to be no injuries. We've failed to win for the sake of a fluke. One concern is Haaland without KDB on the field looks a shadow of what he can be.

Oh, and another positive is I don't think Arsenal look any better than last year.

We outplayed a team two weeks ahead of us in terms of fitness and I presume ( not sure as I switched off) that they are celebrating like they have just won the treble. Liverpool’s fans and players did likewise last season. Best part of today was seeing KDB back on the pitch. It’s going to be a great season but like last season we can let smaller clubs have their day in the sun. Leicester also beat us in the CS and we did ok that season. On to Burnley with a fitter squad and Gvardiol to come back in. Oh and Kova will mean we will hardly miss Gundo

Disappointing we lost, but not going to lose any sleep about a defeat on penalties in the Community Shield.

Unlucky not to win in the 103 mins of normal time, but the real action starts on Friday.
