Arsenal (A) | Community Shield | Post-match Thread

Can see the difference between the two clubs in this

Arsenal have gone nuts, this is the same energy and pressure they showed that eventually completely threw them off as they couldn't sustain it

Played well today, pretty comfortable for the most part with only a bit of a pre-season

It’s disappointing especially after seeing the desperate arsenal fans, player and arteta turning up like it’s the champions league final I wanted to put them back in their place.
But being level headed we are 2 weeks behind arsenal in preparation for the season and we were comfortably the best team despite it being arsenal cup final.

Result doesn’t bother me at all. Just unlucky and Foden should have scored that chance to kill it off.

Games are going to have lots of added minutes now. (We know who will be the main beneficiaries of that) so need to get used to it. Our early leavers need to stay a bit longer else they will miss 20 mins plus!

I thought we were defensively very solid today but lacking in creativity in the first half.

Foden has to be starting games.

Good goal from Palmer.

Good saves from Ortega but he was useless for the pens.

Season starts next week.

Let them have their day - can't quite believe how they got so excited about it but hey ho they won..For me as soon as Lee Dixon mentioned that there has only been 1 winner of the community shield that has gone on the win the league since 2011 our boys did what was necessary.

Good to see Kev back and for me he looks very happy about things, which is a really good sign for us as is Palmer scoring with a super finish. And, no injuries means job done. Overall it kind of felt that we handled them and only were playing in second gear so not too concerned - onto the next one.

Meh

Meaningless game. Someone ask Arsenal how well it worked out for Liverpool last season after winning this friendly.

As for any criticism towards our team, we heard it all pre season last season and look how it turned out.

We turn up when it matters.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. The equaliser was a fluke. You still showed ‘em, you showed ‘em all. Especially the media and the Southern Softies. I’m not sure we should have had all that extra time but it’s over and done.
On to the rest of the season when we will show them what we are made of. :-)

THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.
