Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Give it 2 days and the deluded will be back telling us our bad run is behind us, we'll smash Real and win the Chumps league.
The bare truth though is that top 5 looks unlikely.

Now I don’t think we’ll do much in the CL, however, it is a cup comp that is often won by a side out of sorts domestically.

The top 5 thing is stupid.. Villa were beaten by a relegation candidate and Newcastle got beat (again) by bloody Fulham at home! And Chelsea are a mixed bag. So competition is not that fierce thank god!

We can’t pass. I can’t get my head around it.

We also collapse, a team that won the league last season.

The players ain’t listening to pep. That much is clear.
Then those players need ficked off and need replaced. Going to be a shit year we know that. Team know change is coming and it shows.

Beaten by a better team on the day. They’ve recruited well over the past couple of seasons and are a decent side.
Showed why they deserve to be 2nd and will likely finish behind Liverpool at the end of the season.
We’ve shown some good signs over the past few weeks but we all know a rebuild isn’t going to happen overnight.
We’ve got a tough month coming up so we need to dig in and stop giving cheap goals away like we did today. 3 of those were preventable.
It’s hard to take too many positives out of today but Savinho did well and was a threat all game. He looked like he actually gave a damn too.
A weeks more training, hopefully more players back and will get minutes in the Cup before the big game against Madrid.
Onwards and upwards blues, onwards and upwards.

I admire your optimism mate, but with our run of games coming up I just can’t see it.

Get back in the game and that lazy, half hearted, lack of concentration, lack of urgency pass on the edge of our own box is simply not good enough. Really angry with Foden for the first time ever in his City career. That was NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Up to that point, we had done well. Probably the more dominant team with most control. Savinho was dangerous, Gvardiol was very good, Stones in control, good movement from Marmoush, Nunes a good out ball.

But stupid stupid mistakes like League 1 standard dross from Foden, Akanji shitting it for their first… Ortega shitting it for Havertz chance, balsa wood hand for LS’s goal, didn’t even try and save Nwaneri’s goal… he’s not good enough.

Gifted them the game.

Thankfully, it’s just one result in a bad season that doesn’t really have any impact on our season but there are signs there that some people need to pull their finger out, massively.
Pal, there was other chances for them they should have put away. Yes, we had some good possession but there is a massive hole in our midfield and our defence is not up to it.

I don’t buy any of the excuses.

So what you won trophies!

What does that mean? You can’t play the following season?

Sick of these cunts.

Flat track bullies. That's what we are this season. Absolute shit houses from the manager to every player involved today.

Arsenal worked harder. Fought harder. Tackled harder. Ran further.

We had zero threat all game. We are bullied off the ball. Easily countered on. Passed around with ease.

We have become a laughing stock, closely behind United.

The players don't give a flying fuck. I saw zero effort today. Team full of luxury players, passengers the fucking lot of em. Every single fan of this club would fucking die to don the jersey. Whilst these spineless tools swan about makimg mistake after mistake after mistake. Most unforced as well!!!

And the club refusing to address the midfield situation is just as insane. The club has gone backwards years.

Top 4/5 is now definitely all we have to fight for. We will get torn apart in Europe by any decent outfit. And as soon as well play a top half premier league team in the FA cup, that will be that.

It's a disgrace how a club that has grown to be in the top 3 in the world can fall from grace so quickly and aggressively!!!!

Beyond shit. Don't know why we bother running back to defend, because we don't defend when we run back anyway.
We run back half-heartedly and then defend the same.

Bernado’s lack of effort to track the run into the box for their third goal perfectly encapsulated everything that’s been wrong this season.

Very difficult watch, we seemed to surrender after the Haaland equalised, we need to seriously look at our defensive coaches, and as FD would say, "get back to f^ckin basics it's not difficult".

I don’t think some fans realise how long it takes to build a new team/squad. Look at the time it took the dippers and how long Arsenal have gone title-less. We’ll be quicker, hopefully, but games like these will happen.

It’s going to be a rocky road for a while yet.

Enjoy and celebrate our past unparalleled successes and support the club as it embarks on its journey to recover its place at the top.

I actually thought we did okay after they scored early up to our equaliser. Pity we gifted the second goal so soon but in the grand scheme it doesn’t matter too much for us, just a dropped point really.

Embarrassing, that.

For starters, I’m not sure why Arsenal fans don’t see the irony in how they’re celebrating today with the ‘stay humble’ stuff. They’re quite literally proving Haaland’s point - they’ve bottled another title race (3 in 3 years) but are happy with the small victories in games like this rather than looking at the bigger picture.

On us. So many passengers. So many cowards out there, dawdling on the ball. Backing out of tackles. No real urgency in how we play. Again. Just the same shit week in, week out with no apparent change of tactics from Pep but to flog a dead horse. Got players taking the piss against us. So easy to play against.

We dominated the ball when they were 1-0 up. Because teams are comfortable with us having the ball. There’s no real direction in how we attack and we rely on moments rather than genuine tactics it seems. An aimless cross into Haaland and hope we wins the header? Do me a fucking favour, man.

As soon as we scored, you knew they’d attack and you knew they’d score. But 38 seconds. Jesus Christ. Where’s the pride? The backbone? The fight to push on? It’s nowhere and has been lost for months.

Baffling. I’ll never turn on Pep. Never. But he’s had months to sort it out and hasn’t changed tactics at all since October. We’re wide open. So turn us into a counter attacking team. But then we can’t sit and defend. So put us on the front foot? Fine. But don’t push 8 of our 10 outfield players up so we’re 2v5 every time we lose it - because we will lose it - with no legs to actually get back.

It’s suicidal tactics and it’s criminal they’ve been the same for so long.

As for Arsenal. Fake cunts. From the manufactured song they’ve started playing and trying to claim as an anthem to the over celebration when they’re still miles behind in a title race. Stems from their block head **** manager who seems to alternate between playing left back and right wing depending on which way they attack.

Glad dippers will win the league.

Big Summer coming up for Viana. But before then it needs sorting on the pitch.
Liked this with a caveat. I’ll never be glad that the dippers win the league.

Akanji, Nunes, Kovacic, Bernardo, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish, Walker (still our player), Lewis, Stones all need moving on sooner rather than later. And that’s before we address the goalkeeper situation, as if Ederson has had his head turned and Ortega doesn’t want to remain no.2, then both of them will leave too. Perhaps as many as 12 have to go. And I’d extend no sympathy to anyone. We have to be a serious club again.
Bernardo was our best player today and also actually cared the most. Grealish didn't play so not sure you can put him up for much criticism tbh.
