Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Shameful last 30 minutes. Absolutely shameful.

You can take not winning games if the effort is there, but they gave up at 3-1 and that is unacceptable.

The annoying thing is in parts we actually played well. After the opening 15 mins we were decent and the 1st 10 mins after half time we were on top, but then another gift after gifting them the 1st goal, 2 mins after equalising. Braindead stuff. Some players need to have a serious look at themselves after that.

at least someone with some balls has called it, expect a battering on here for that but sadly its the truth, he's done us proud but the long term fail from Pep is going back to the Kompany years and not replacing players as they aged, this has carried on up to date, that IMO is bad management
Oh yeah, nothing but long term failure from Pep since Kompany left. Bang on there, pal.

Memories from this game, are of Ortega playing dodgy passes, nunes attacking on the right but stopping and playing the ball backwards, and giving in after the 2nd goal.

Your only as good as your last result was the old saying. Someone needs to tell Pep. Questions need answering considering the great wealth at the clubs disposal. No CL football next year might bring the owners out of there slumber.

Getting beatings like this and in 4th place.

Imagine how bad you must be to be 13th!

Pep's style of play may well be redundant now. It certainly is with these players.

There is very little point in playing Haaland if we're just going to give the opposition so much time to get back in defensive shape.
Football is cyclic no one team dominates forever and football tactics and styles of play change.

Guardiola seems unique in that his ability to change tactics from game to game is now the issue

I think the adage of possession of the ball is the best form of defence is well and truly gone

Personally if this continues into next season then questions have to be asked

I do wonder why we get so many injuries?? I know Arse are to blame for Rodri, but what's going on? Is it too many games because Pep won't trust new young players?
Pep's preference for a small 19/20-man senior squad has bitten us on the arse this season because of the injuries and the ageing players. Poor summer transfer windows, no time for proper recovery from injuries and no pace at the back and in midfield.

A shite arsenal just destroyed us

Piss poor tactics & stupid no need risky passing cost us that

Foden cost us 2 & stones cost us 1

I don’t want to see any of the older players again play at city or nunes

I don’t see this team get top 5

Team is de motivated & old after winning it all but that’s history
Probably not the place but seems apparent after that shit

The days of big contracts for older players must numbered.

Waiting all season for Stones to return and he was terrible.
Akanji whilst probably not on mega money is past his best, we've had his best few years and that's that.

That Bosman fella has realy fucked football, players get signed on big contracts but their form plummets and there is nowt you can do.
Can't even shift em outside of the window.

What the fuck is Grealish doing to not be able to get in that team.

I have feared what we would do when Ederson moves on, today was a stark reminder.

Marmoush was anonymous today too btw, disappointing that, and Nunes, Jesus fucking wept!

If Ederson goes in the summer, we need a new number 1
We also need a proper left and right back, those who can defend as well as go forward. We have enough attacking talent now especially if we can address the midfield issues but we need to be more robust defensively

Another fucking shambles, questions now have to be asked and serious fucking questions at that. This team has run it's course, a massive rebuild is needed and also a serious review of our backroom staff especially with regards to the consistent injuries to key players such as Dias and Ake and the methods used to get them back to full fitness the poor recruitment of players the past couple of seasons. Maybe the buck does stop at Pep's door but I think the problem lies deeper than that. It goes beyond the loss of Rodri, we can't keep using that as an excuse for this shit show of a season.

Today, and on a lot of other occasions this season we have been made to look ridiculous and oh are the press and media are lapping it up. A club in our position cannot, and should not be made to look ridiculous. Today is totally unacceptable and the management and players need to stand up and be accountable for this. Anyone, player or management, who doesn't needs to be shown the door as quickly as possible.

We either start fighting back as a team to salvage what remains of the season or we will die as individuals and end up in danger of this decline spiralling even further and maybe irretrievably so.

It's the total collapse and surrender that's doing fans heads in, not that we're losing. It's the manner of these defeats
Totally agree with that. We seem to have no backbone. To be fair we have essentially lost all our spine with no Rodri, Dias, Ederson and KDB in decline. What is poor is that no one else has really stepped up. This will not be fixed overnight.
