Akanji has been a steady eddy for us but the last couple of months has been a bomb scare. Playing when not 100% maybe to help us out like Laporte famously did back in the day.

Akanji was a great buy for £14m, utter bargain. But thats all he is, a £14m player.
When things are going well and he has a strong partner, hes ok.
When the shit hits the fan and he needs to be the strong one, hes a shambles

Man I just saw some stats.

Stones and Akanji made 0 tackle attempts and made 0 attempts at ground duels.

Its not that they failed in them, they didnt bother trying.

Stones didnt have battle for the ball aerially once, while Akanji won 2/3 aerial duels.

What in the lord is that, ive never seen CBs who literally just stand still so much when defending.

I actually don’t think Kovacic played badly today. I thought stones was a 2, Nunes was just as Nunes is, akanji I just as bad as it gets and Ortega looks like a bang average back up keeper.

Agree mate, we have a very large soft spot that managers are taking advantage of, however that doesn’t mean they’ve surpassed Pep.
