Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Yes - just back from the Emirates. Very few tourists in the away end for a change (it's one of their favourite fixtures normally) and nice to see a group of Arsenal twats get booted out after they scored. Oh, and Haarland scored a goal.
Just back? Where do you live?

We are facing the same issue that Liverpool faced before, our midfield is finished and we haven't adressed it. We need multiple PL proven midfielders in our midfield.

Agreed.
As much as I dislike their some of their supporters (and I do), their players and their current manager are much harder to dislike than this classless arsenal bunch. It honestly wouldn’t bother me that much if liverpool won it this year.
Totally.Slot seems a decent bloke and they have some excellent players. Shame they play for the cult

Pep would rather walk than change his style. Keep pep and sign the players he needs.
Well we played a longer-ball style against Chelsea and it worked remarkably well, then we inexplicably binned it against a team we knew was going to come out pressing us hard.

We've adopted a long-ball style in several matches over the years with Pep.

And that’s the truth of it , who’s buying these players ? Txiki or Amorims old right hand man? we are flapping like a tap dancers fanny, seems to totally go against our previous signing strategies?

I reckon that the suits get a budget and if they either don't use the budget, or actually make a profit they get a bonus. This how the rags operated under the GPC. His quote was "There's no value in the transfer market at the moment "
We have just had a calendar year, where we made a significant profit. The fact that it could take us several seasons to get back to challenging for CL and EPL means nothing to them.

Very strange game. When Haaland scored I actually thought we could win it as we had basically been dominating the game. Foden then made that pass and the game changed completely. We are all massively disappointed at what happened in the last half hour and it is clear that we are now, definitely, in a transition phase.

The success we have had over so many years has been remarkable and we have broke so many records. I am therefore not gonna stick the knife into the manager and players who achieved such greatness which has sadly been the case by so many City fans on here tonight.

All I will say is come on City and I look forward to the day when we can return the favour to those Arsenal players and that twat Gabriel in particular.

Seems like our transfer policy is all about net spend and ‘clever’ deals now. Hoping gambles pay off on some players and spunking insane amounts on others like Nunes Phillips, while letting talent leave.
Ill let you for a fact that youre correct. From the horses mouth we wont be buying worldies

I wish our women’s team manager had taken inspiration from the Chelsea game too …

I personally think Mamoosh will become a house hold name. You can see his qualities from a mile off!
He looks decent, qualities a mile off, not so sure....David Silva, Aguero, Bernado you could see instantly, after about 15mins of debuts, wouldn't put him anywhere near that on 'immediate' impressions, but certainly looks better than some others.

Completely agree with this. Liverpool winning it won’t bother me one bit. Can’t stand their fans but I’ll block it out pretty easily. Arsenal on the other hand just makes me feel a bit sick. Their fans are just horrific and that’s equally matched by their players and Arteta.

This team, manager and these players have given more joy than I ever thought a City side ever could. The fall off this season has been faster than expected but im not going to start slating them.

The club need us pulling together rather than making scapegoats.

Some posters could do with taking an hour or so to chill out before putting their frustrations on here.
The injuries to key players have played their part and it's been said ad-nauseam, but losing Rodri for the season affected the squad mentally and that slight drop off in intensity has cost us big time.

When we went 2-1 down our, and not for the first time this season, heads dropped, our confidence drained and we collapsed. That it keeps happening is bad play, bad management and bad planning in the transfer market.

Yeah we need a centre midfielder, and now a right back, but what we're desperately need are leaders in the squad who can lift and captain players.
Apart from Dias and Rodri, i don't see anyone capable of doing that job and that needs to be addressed.

You know sometimes I really do have to laugh…..I know feelings are running high but….
Last week we played Brugge and John Stones was voted 3rd (I think) in MOTM.
The praise was coming right left and centre. Now today some of the posts are laughable and for the fan who offered me a cage fight. Oh sunshine you have got a rude awakening coming.
I may be an 83 yr old woman who isn’t that mobile these days but my vocabulary is and my teacher stare hasn’t faded!!

Bring it on love, bring it on. :-) ;-)
can you play right back?

For me, Pep needs to change the way we play. His possession football is not working and has not for over a year, we won the league last year out of pure stubbornness to not lose. Every other team has evolved the way they play to counter a possession based team. We have not changed at all. If Pep does change it around then he truly deserves the genius tag as it would be, I think, a dramatic change in the way we play
