Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I thought it was tactically great today, the defensive formation worked right up to nearly the end, if we had just been disciplined once more and not committed forward, and if Donna would have stayed in his 6 yard box I reckon we would have seen it over the line. Some awesome performances, I'm really enjoying watching us, a bit of fight and some more solid defense, plus Doku, Phil and Earling playing really well, beating the rags, Napoli and a point today away at arse isn't too bad at all.

I don’t blame Donna. He couldn’t not close him down and 99 times out of 100 the touch is poor and/or the finish goes wide/over

My brother was a steward at Wembley in '78 when Tony Currie ran rings round them - he still bores me with that story to this day...!
They weren't that great in both 74 & 78. Was it Nelinho that scored that wonder goal? But a travesty that 82 side didn't win it.

If that's the way Arsenal celebrate getting a point after 5 games what are they gonna do if they win something?
There have been a few posts like this suggesting an over-reaction when certain teams take a point, or even win, but people seem to forget we beat Arsenal to the title in 22-23 and 23-24, we knocked them out of the FA Cup on the way to our treble and we've won the bloody CL which they've failed to do in many more attempts.
And they equalised in stoppage time against one of the best teams on the planet (when we get our arses in gear). You'd have to be a bloody robot not to go bug-shit at getting an equaliser.

The rule of football is its good when we do it and bad when they do it. Hence them celebrating a last minute equaliser like we did with Stones last year is bad, and us time wasting gets jeered by Arsenal fans. We are all hypocrites.

Not sure what you were watching Nunes was fine. Arsenal are not a threat? A threat to what? Our 9th place:-)
Nunes is shit, how can people not see it.

Top 3 will be City, Arse and Dips, could be in any order.

Having had a few hours to reflect on the goal that was conceded I have come to the following conclusions:

A) a free kick should have been awarded fir the foul on Gonzalez - symptomatic of the refereeing of Attwell

B) Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol were uncharacteristically slow to respond to Martinelli's run - forgivable mistakes

C) Josko should have pushed up in line with Nathan but again, forgivable

D) Savinho who had plenty of energy, however, had one job to do, but he didn't do it. He didn't make any effort to close Eze down. Given that he has done the sum of bugger all when called upon this season, and he spent the immediate aftermath moaning to his team mates on the pitch after the Derby thrashing says it all. He has a bad attitude. If he doesn't improve we should get rid. That's not knee jerk that's based on observations last season and this - he does it when he feels like it which won't do. I'm done with him.

A bit premature for me after 5 games, liverpool won't be winning all 38, arsenal showed today they will struggle to be up there in May.

I'm not saying we will win it, but there are some very good signs, with a pretty young team.

Next season for us. Liverpool haven’t looked great but they’ve won every game with their main signings doing nothing. So I doubt they’ll get worse

But let’s see how it goes

Dias was screaming at him as he came on, as if talking to a child whod already thrown his teddy out of the pram.

Rags, Napoli and arse all in a week. Some players still coming back and new injuries picked up.

We won’t play like that many times this season.

Arse are a top side but you can still see the weak mentality. Dips league again unless we go on a run out of nowhere.

I appreciate the hard graft put in today. The fight is in this team. We look so much better over the last two games and have shown 2 sides to our game.

Gonna be a decent season. Injuries tho, fuck off.
