Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

What was the city end like normally when we are in London our end is riddled with tourists was it the same today
It was banging where I was stood . The only tourists I saw were in the Arsenal Clock End next to us and my ears are still ringing from the noise we made .Nothing like a City Away Day .

No safe standing and padded seats , the latter looking a bit sun bleached . That song they do before kickoff has to be ironic , given they started off South of the river .

Whilst I can accept the approach that was taken, I cannot see this as anything more than an admission of inferiority, a capitulation of beliefs and i cannot understand how people are framing this as a step forward. A bit melodramatic but I think a part of Pep died today.
Might be a plan B that everyone keeps demanding - perhaps?

Difficult game to articulate.

Delighted we showed we can be solid, determined and do the dirty things well.

Sad that its the only way we compete now against other title challengers.

Really pleased to see players like Doku show some consistency.

Baffled as to some of the late subs

Bizarre times when Pep is drawing inspiration from Mourinho. Big Sam would be proud. Taking off Haaland and Doku killed any chance of a 2nd goal.

That shows how much Pep respects this current Arsenal team, but probably also casts doubt over his current group of City players.

A point would have been a good result before kick-off. It probably puts the title out of reach though.
Yeh just the 33 games to go……

You can't defend a 1-0 lead for 75 minutes.

We were asking for trouble.
Really odd, he has a heart the size of a pea at the best of times, so to put him on when we needed someone really willing to put it all on the line, even for 10 mins!

No chance it's him your bringing on.

the spine of our team - GG, Gvardiol, Rodri, Haaland is class

the rest of them though arent half a mixed bag.

why the hell cant we keep the ball anymore? moving away from tiki taka just isnt man city sorry. today we were bossed by arsenal, even before the goal they had more of the ball and its not a plan thats gonna work long term.

Reijnders, Dias, Doku, Savinho, Gonzales, Marmoush, Nunes, Lewis, Ake and tbh Bernie if you put them under pressure they will lose the ball.
You have to be aware that we didn't try to keep the ball today. Why try and do something that we know would benefit the opposition? They're more mobile than us, more aggressive, we try and play our normal way, they would have pressed us hard. Won that battle and we get beat comfortably. We didnt compete for control and even though we missed out on the 3 points, we got a point hardly anybody (myself included) thought we had a chance of getting pre-match as none of us saw Pep actually doing what he did.

We weren't bossed for the whole game. we were very much in control of the game first half without being primarily in control of the ball. Second half was different, they did boss us but we had limited options and were visibly tired and had Haaland squared it for Foden the gameplan would have worked to perfection.

It was a gameplan we are obviously not going to be adopting at home to Burnely next week but it was great to see that Pep can and seemingly now will, bend his "plan A regardless" approach if he see's that the team doesn't match up to what the opposition have.

Today was an extreme version of showing a different approach brought on from the quick turn around and the lack of options. with a fitter squad and better bench options, we perhaps don't tire so quickly and can offer more similar to the first half and we maybe don't lose all attacking threat when we have a marmoush or cherki to bring into the game or we can freshen up the midfield with kovacic.

I only read the first comment so apologies.

A masterclass? Are you fucking serious? That was a shitshow and we are going only in one direction, it isn’t forwards.
