Arsenal away first match of the league.

Many questions marks with Arsenal, really think we should beat them comfortably.

Hope/expect to see something like this:

——————————Ederson
———-Walker—Stones—Laporte—Mendy
————————-Fernandinho
—————-De Bruyne—-D.Silva
————Bernardo—Aguero—Mahrez

Ederson
Walker Stones Laporte Mendy
Fernandinho
Mahrez B.Silva D.Silva Sané
Aguero

KDB and Sterling to start on the bench.

I really Sané is fit. He constantly rips Arsenal a new one.

Their new centre half is pretty clumsy, I see our movement twisting him all over the place. Fancy a red card.

Arsenal have had a confidence building pre-season, and didn't have many players at the world cup so all will be fresh and had much longer together in pre-season than us.

I expect a tough game which we will just edge.

It would be an immense start to the season beating Chelsea and Arsenal in the opening 2 meaningful games.

It should set us up for the next few months at least.

Bernardo is in top form and Mahrez was dangerous on the left today so I’m not too worried plus subbing Sane on will have the tired defenders having panic attacks.

Haven’t seen them play yet under Emery but their defense is probably still suspect.

You obviously haven't been watching them. They haven't been that good, at all. That's being polite about them.

Very difficult start.

Whilst we are too good these days to be pleased with anything else but a win, a draw wouldn’t be a dreadful start.

I expect Arsenal to surprise a few this season and think Aubayemang is a strong contender to be top scorer.

I'd expect an unchanged line up, not sure De Bruyne is ready yet and not sure if D.Silva is up to speed yet? Maybe Jesus in for Mahrez who looks a little off the pace at the moment.

Would have preferred an easier start, especially with wolves away on game 3 which will also be difficult.
Would very happily take 7 points from the first 3 games. If it's 9 the title race is all but over by the end of August regardless of what others do (yes i know that sounds crazy) because we are only going to get better as the season goes on.

I predict 1-1

Goin for a draw. Aguero is gonna have fun against our slow backline that plays a high line and tries to use the offside trap to stop attackers.

I'm hoping you defend like you did for the first 15/20 minutes against Chelsea. Abject is not a strong enough word to describe it.

Such a difficult game to start the season with. They’ll be properly up for it, Emerys first game and with it being their first home fixture I see this being as difficult as we find Anfield. Fingers crossed we can get the three points.

Think Kompany might start based on him starting the previous games vs Arsenal. Think Pep wants the extra pace and physicality to guard against Aubameyang, who he knows all too well.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mahrez doesn't start and Bernardo starts on the right with 2 of Foden/Silva/KDB/Gundogan starting in CM but I'm gonna go with him.

Gonna also go with KDB proving his fitness. He's so important and Pep might think we need him in what will be a tough game, Arsenal will be more counterattacking that we're used to so need someone to pick the lock. Perhaps we might look to give him a rest in some of the following games instead.

Pep mentioned Otamendi's fitness so think he might be left out altogether in order to get a FB option on the bench

Even if we sign someone this window can't see him being involved, esp. if it's Weigl, who has just returned from an injury.

Sane Aguero Mahrez
Bernardo De Bruyne
Mendy Fernandinho Walker
Laporte Kompany
Ederson

Bravo, Delph/Zinchenko, Stones, Gundogan, Silva, Foden, G.Jesus

I would deffinately keep Benard in and if Sane isn't fit then as Jesus played out wide left for palmeiras many a time and with mendy in support I would start the lad and see if he can be a back up option to sane as well as a striker.

I am not overly worried about Arsenal, Pep has drilled a fluidity that seems to mean any player can slip into the team with not much disruption and even though they have had a decemt pre season the first game will all be preasure for them not us to achieve
