i feel a big performance is due and arsenal away could be just what we need, they will offer up a open game because they are worst than us at the back at the moment, so i fancy a high scoring game and goals at both ends and city scoring more than arsenal, the pressure is off now in the league and city need to start to pick up the points to keep the gap on the top 6

today is the first time in 3 seasons that i can watch the game and enjoy the team play and not feel the pressure of having to win, city will be back stronger next season and i will be like a pressure cooker steam coming out of my ears, so until then am going to just enjoy the games and watch some football being played by manchester city and our world class players

Attention-seeking is behind a lot of the posts that demand mass clearouts of : The manager : the physio/medical staff : the academy staff : every player apart from the one who pissed off on his own accord : the ball-boys : the women's team and their manager : the caterers : the singing section : the silent majority : and uncle Tom Cobley an' all
The odd post sneaks through that is based on sensible and mature observation, a nugget in a bucket of dust, and that is what you get in a public forum. Opinions in the match forums are not to be taken seriously, pure emotion leading to hysteria, panic hatred even, however, having calmed down, some posters persist with their own personal vendettas which are blatantly transparent. Generations of City fans have had a boo-boy to pick on, confined to the terraces until t'internet gave them a pulpit to screech from.
No doubt every club has it's coterie of miserable moaners, nay-sayers and arses hiding behind key-boards and wearing out the s h i t buttons, (a staple adjective on BM where every player gets it at one time or another). Maybe it's why the forum keeps going, the bad apples outnumbered by the good, bit like society in general in that respect.
At least it's only egos that suffer on here, unlike face-to-face "discussions" :)

They tick all the boxes to beat us. Two rapid attackers in Aubameyang and Pepe. Ozil pinging long balls for them to chase. Torreira and Xhaka brining their dark arts. They can sit deep with 5 atb and pray on easy counters. I predict a 2-1 loss today.

Their deficit at the back originates from being open and attacking. They will sit deep against us and won’t have much trouble defensively.

I agree there’s no need to be negative at this present time. We’re still playing good football: top scorers in the league, most passes, most shots and the 4th most amount of clean sheets. This start to the season we would’ve gotten away with a few years ago, but because of how high us and Liverpool have now set the bar, anything short of a unbeaten season seems like a failure.
However, let’s say worse comes to worst, we finish 3rd or 4th, knocked out early again in the champions league, no fa cup or league cup. You’d be standing there saying “Well look how much we’ve won recently, look at what we use to have and how far we’ve come, the football we’re playing is the best I’ve ever seen”. The fact is we need to start acting like a big club and realise we set a bar over the last few years, and if we fall short of it this year by quite a margin, we can’t make excuses just because of how bad we use to be.
If that worse come to worst season I just said occurred, am I not the only one thinking Pep’s job would be on the line?

Sterling and Bernardo on 4 yellow cards they need to avoid a yellow card to make sure they are available for Leicester.

I don't think Arsenals game is having 5 men or more behind the ball and playing on the counter, what do they do if City score first, suddenly change it up, it's not that easy. Let's hope they attack us and it's an open game.

We have been truly blessed to have seen our team perform beyond belief for the past two seasons. I suppose we are due a blip, let the haters carry on hating us. We WILL be back better and stronger next season. If we can just keep to our strengths and finish top 3, with a trophy or two, it won’t be all bad.
Let the diving dippers have their moment, it’s been planned by the PL since they were pipped last time. All we can do is play our game. We don’t need to rely on intimidating teams by destroying their coach or diving all over the pitch.
I just want us to promote our younger players and get them ready for the new push.
Can you imagine the meltdown in the media if Pep decides he wants another 5 years.

I'd play with 2 holding midfielders to shore our defense up. We still have enough creativity to open them up

To do that though it would mean Gundogan and Rodri(which will probably be who start anyway). When they’ve played together in the past it’s not tended to work well. Also due to teams sitting back against us we will always spend the majority of the time on the front foot. Neither of these 2 have any pace when teams counter against them. For me surely it’s better to get back to defending from the front with players who can press to prevent counters and also creative players who can score regularly as we dominate the game. Go positive like that and it’s Foden and De Bruyne, their pressing at home to Atlanta was superb and after the first 20 so was the team. Can’t see it happening though as we’ll save Phil for the big game against Oxford.

The league is over so I'm just going to relax and enjoy the game. Yes we are way behind the dippers but so what, If we had signed VAR this summer instead of the dippers we would be right up there. We got nothing last year and had to put in a mamouth effort to win the league, that was some achievement. Lets not forget our players are on the end of shit decisions constantly, while they see Varpool get absolutely everything, that has to affect you, And it isnt just this season.

I just want Pep to try the 352 now, like he did when we signed Mendy. I think while we are struggling at the back it will make us stronger. Anyway hoping for a good performance and a win.

My guess is that Ljungberg will copy Ole. Their problem being that they don't have the same pace when they counter, nor do they have any reliable DMs.

I think that Arsenal will come out all fired up and filled with belief. But as soon as things calm down, City start playing the ball, Arsenal will slowly loose confidence. From the 20th minute they'll be hopelessly pinned back and completely clueless how to get out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up 5-0 to City.
