We haven't done much this season to suggest that the result will be anything but a defeat. Team lacks the fighting spirit and urgency of Leicester City.

What a game this would be to win. I've got a good feeling after the long break that we will be a lot more organised after working all week.

Biggest game of the season, no doubt. I want us to win here and then win at Leicester and use it as the springboard to win the league.

It's imperative that we play three in midfield. I would go for Delph, Fernandinho and Toure. The CB's should be Mangala and Otamendi - MDM should be nowhere near the eleven.

---------------------Hart-----------------------
--Sagna---Mangala--Otamendi---Clichy--
-----------Fernandinho--Delph-------------
--------------------Toure----------------------
---------KDB---------------Silva---------------
------------------Aguero-----------------------

It's hard because I really think Sterling could shine tonight, so he would be my substitute for Kun who won't play the full game. KDB should now feel rested, if he's not then I would feature Sterling ahead of him. That being said, if we're still in the game and we bring on Sterling then he will play an integral part on the break.

This is a huge game tonight. If Arsenal fail to win then that self-doubt could start to creep into their squad. Every season they start well, every season they blow up around Christmas/the second half of the season.
Thats the team. We might lose, but we need to be competetive. I for one will be happy if our performance and application is good irrespective of the result. We are only missing Vinnie from fielding our strongest possible team and the squad should be well rested so no excuses.

I would be surprised if Aguero started. It was reported that for most of the time that he was injured he couldn't run at all, only swim. That must have affected his general fitness. If he starts they have to be confident that he can manage 55-60 mins. I think its more likely he'll be on the bench, playing the final 30 mins.

Easier for him to start than thrown into a game which is at peak intensity. He started the last time after a lay off, I can see Manuel doing it again.

Lets see how we play now we don't have a CL game mid week. I think we should go for the jugular with Navas and Stirling wide.

Not dreaded an away day like this since we were shit and going to old trafford in the hope of just making the scoreline respectable. I'm sure a few beers will sort me out.

if we don't start with 3 in midfield i may aswell flog my ticket outside the ground. It would be complete suicide not to, and the fact we're questioning whether it will happen shows how inept the manager has been this season. And 3 in midfield means 3 in midfield please, not Dinho and Delph in the middle with Yaya given the night off to loiter around behind Aguero/Bony. I want to see Yaya if anything behind the other two not in the number 10 role where he offers little and quite frankly we have better players in that position.

Kolarov should start - Clichy has been poor defensively recently and regardless of Kolos own weaknesses, like you say he offers much more overall.
I'd also start Sterling ahead of KDB with the remit to cover his full back.
The important thing is to go three in the middle though, anything else and all other discussion is moot.

It's either KDB of yaya for me we need sterling and Navas on the pitch to cover our fullbacks plus they put the work in. We know yaya doesn't KDB does to a certain extent but his energy levels is not as good as sterling and Navas.

Halfway through reading this thread I thought for a minute I was on an Arsenal forum... :-D

The season does not end tonight. We all want a win and a good performance, but if those things don't happen (we are playing away at a top side where we have won 1 league game in the past 40 years) that doesn't mean we are 'sh*te' or Pellers is a 'clueless c*nt'.

It means we need to get behind a team over the next few months who are 1. well in the title race despite missing our 3 of our 4 (the other being Hart) best players for much of the season, 2. In with a great shout of reaching last 8 in CL and 3. One tie away from another trip to Wembley.

Don't be like those booing goons over at the swamp who expect to win every game...support the team and the manager.

Well said.

Am I the only one who is a bit concerned that Wenger seems to be very confident about facing us ? Hughes too said he was relishing playing us. I think we have lost our fear factor which we had at the start of the season.

Would you fear us the way we are playing in the league at the moment?

It's a must not lose game.
In terms of league games we haven't played well throughout a 90 minutes once this season. West Brom were beyond shite, Chelsea penned us at 1-0 then threw the towel in after Kompany's goal, Everton could have went either way, Newcastle could easily have went 2 or 3 goals up before they collapsed quicker than a slag on a cock.

We have to send out a statement to the league tonight and win.

Sadly can't see anything but an Arsenal win.
