That would be the sensible approach if one is playing against a side like City. You gotta give yourself the best chance and they were fully entitled to play the way they did.

At the end of the day no one gives a sht about how you played, it's the result that matters

Confirms what we all knew we needed in this transfer window. A quality left back is desperately needed. Have hoped and hoped Mendy would come good, but I think it's last him now. A centre half, a left back, a winger & a striker are a must this window to speed up the rejuvenation of the squad. And get Bernardo right as well.

Think they felt that all they had to do was turn up. Not good and not for the first time this season. We still have things to play for so they need to shape up and get back in the game
 
And what the fuck does Mendy do?? His only positive attribute was his crossing. When was the last time he got an assist?. 50 million pounds lmao
 
Hopefully that's out of our system, just under 3 weeks to get prepared for the Madrid game, forget about the next two in the league.

Is there the slightest chance of Sergio being fit?

Players just don't look interested and going through the motions.
 
I didn’t think we actually played that bad. We just looked toothless upfront and lacking a plan b

Agreed. Apparently the players couldn’t give a toss about them being part of the 8. A real opportunity lost for us especially after such positive news. Don’t fancy our chances against a resurgent Madrid side. Think we’ll collapse and wither away.

First time I ever unliked a post. I pressed like before I read that you don’t care about the Champions League. If you don’t want David Silva, Sergio Agüero, Phil Foden, Kevin de Bruyne and Fernandinho to win the European Cup, you’re not a blue.
 
The worry this season is you can tell after 10-15 its going to be one of those performances and the players or Pep can't do antthing different.

I personally don't think we have a prayer of winning the CL

Baffling from Pep, and I'm one of his biggest fans on here.

Why play David 90 minutes against Bournemouth, if you think it might be a good idea to start him 3 days later in such an important game?

Why keep David 80 minutes on the pitch and let people cross the ball to him in the penalty box?

Why think that David can still be a starter at this level at all? Why change De Bryune's role in order to accommodate him in the team?

Pep got sentimental like many fans and underestimated that game. And, sadly, got what he deserved.

Wasted a great opportunity for another trophy and gifted a chance for Manure/Chelsea to win a trophy.
 
Pep got it wrong and did very little to change it, Mahrez on the right is a luxury, we were better when Sterling plays on the right. We hardly ever get to the by line these days, and crossing from deep is a waste of time. Our play was slow and predictable and Jesus very rarely can deeper to play the ball. No one running beyond the forward players. I have never liked Mendy he does not read a game very well and often appears out of tune with everyone else. We surrendered the cup without a fight, we tried to be clever and patient and it did not work, we would have been better going for broke and we did not.

if he’s only here one more season he needs to go now. I want him for 5 more but right now we need a plan & consistency as this team needs a lot moving on
 
We were fucking crap first half and got exactly what we deserved.

We have a lot of problems to solve for next season not least what is becoming on almost total reliance on KDB having to play well for us to win.

The defence is just crap.
