The thing is, the club you support is about to lose it's best player. A certain RVP.

The said player who has scored over 30 goals and single handedly kept Arsenal in the top 6, nevermind in the top 4.

So what happens to your beloved Arsenal next season when RVP leaves and that transfer money is used to pay off some of the debt once again?

City on the otherhand will sell Tevez, Ade, and....?, which will bring in enough transfer money to go and buy again, regardless of the Money Mansour makes available.

So next season City will once again be fighting for the title, while Arsenal, minus RVP, will be.......(fill in as appropriate) :-)

It wasn't so much a celebration of beating City, as it was a celebration of proving a point to Nasri.

He promised he would sign a new contract, then demanded a move to City. Not one week after signing he's talking shit about the club and fans. Clichy didn't, and Toure certainly didn't. Nasri wound the fans up by saying we had no passion, said the club didn't have as much ambition, etc.

True or not, you just don't say that to the press. He got what was coming to him.

My point is, we've had many players leave us for money/trophies. Many of which left the club in the shit. Some have handled it with class (Toure and Clichy), while others lashed out at the club and fans that supported them (Nasri, Adebayor). That's really what it's about.

If the situations were reversed, many of you would feel the same way. If Nasri had class, he would have thanked the club and fans like Clichy did. Instead he said we had no passion, and that in training he could immediately see he was at a better club. That was just venomous, and obviously riled up the same people that once sung his name.

Funny the crux of your argument is based around a conclusion that is yet foregone. And in the hypothetical scenario Van persie does go, someone else would step up. People said that with Henry, when he left adebayor stepped up , when he left Fabregas stepped up , then when fabregas got injured Nasri done ok for a bit , when he left Van persie stepped up. I'm hardly worried if rvp goes, been there done that, though for what its worth , I cant see him leaving . Though for the answer to that we'll have to wait till seasons end.
