Arsenal Fans Today

Thought Arsenal looked decent yesterday Defo don't look like a team that's lost it's best player. Gervinho is shite tho and it's been along time since somebody beat us on possession at home. Arsenal will be 3rd or 4th again they won't win the title. As for there fans yesterday I thought it was good banter.

City fans spitting their dummies out due to frustration of one mediocre performance against a top four side. Fair enough the Arsenal fans were louder than us yesterday, but in all honesty that doesn't take much and that's from experience of being a season ticket holder for the past two years our home atmosphere has been increasingly woeful. Our support is much the same away support is easily up there as the best.

if city had played a bit better they would have shut the fuck up, teams are attacking us this season unlike last year when they were playing safe!

our support was shit yesterday been poor all season i think but thats because the team have been not at the races,

arsenal were loud yesterday fair play to em, and deserved a point!

we'll be loud at fulham next week, swings and roundbouts!

Really? When have Arsenal ever tried not to play football at your place? Compare that to the way you lot park the bus at Emirates.

As far as home support goes you lot are too harsh on yourselves. Most Premiership sides have shit home support. That includes the supposed atmosphere kings at Anfield,Newcastle and West Ham.

City are far from the worst. Its better than ours for starters.

English football has become an entertainment industry for the middle classes and tv audiences in countries with no football culture of their own. We killed ours in return for handouts from broadcasters.

Away fans are the football equivalent of Indian reservations.

Isn't parking the bus still a legitimate tactic? It served a purpose on the night. The fact that Arsenal couldn't score should have been more of a concern to you. United tried it at our place, didn't have a single shot on goal, lost the game, and then the title. Yet it was never mentioned on TV or in the press. Contrast and compare to the abuse we got for doing it at Asrsenal and succeeding.

I always remember Arsenal parking the bus for a 1-0 win every week.

How did it go?

"1-0 to the Arsenal!"

Of course it is. Chelsea are champions of Europe. I was responding to the fella who said we tried to play it safe last season. It works in cups, but not in the league. Its also shit to watch. As you said United went against their instincts and lost the league at your place doing it. You nearly lost it by losing at our place after 90 minutes of no ambition.

Everyone hated our football in the Graham era, but we won the league in 80 courtesy of having scored the most goals in the league.

Again, another over reaction to our home support. :-/

Yet, I bet there wasn't a mtach going Arsenal fan who didn't love those 1-0 wins. Especially when Adams lifted the trophy at the end of the season.

I also recall Arsenal fans abusing Wenger and calling for him to be sacked last season. Thankfully your board doesn't have a knee-jerk reaction.

largely true, but in the final season there was a lot of dissent about his football, and in fairness it was dire. You have to win if you play like that or any set of fans will lynch you.

Wenger is keeping this club alive. The board know it and most fans also know it.It will be two more years until we get new kit and shirt sponsors. We haven't had any income from those sources since the move as we had to take the Nike and Emirates cash up front to pay towards the stadium.

That will be 40-50 million a year we don't have now. Then we'll be on a level playing field with you, Chelski and United. We might even have more money than the rest depending on United's debt situation and how FFP affects you and the rent boys.

Either way,Wenger deserves having a go with money behind him. Most fans know that. I wouldn't take the crap a couple of kids on Arsenal Mania who have never been to a match, or people who call radio phone-ins come out with as representative.

just been reading over this thread and thought would add my 2 cents to it

tbh i have no bitterness towards city alot of the bitterness i imagine from fellow arsenal fans stems out of somewhat jealously due to the fact you have the millions and we are constantly selling our better players on. i for one didnt have a problem with raking in the cash for all the players we have sold you and tbh think you overpaid for the vast majority of them. i think its easy to target you with the the same brush as chelsea coz u have the millions etc etc. i for one dont see you both in the same bracket what so ever. its a shame to see that its largely hostille now between both sets fans, more than likely because instead of us tonking you, we're now happy to go to city and come away with a point (take it as a compliment) i for one went to the match yesterday and was more than happy with a point bar when forehead skied it over with a couple mins to go haha.
i only hope that come the end of the season we can be challenging you guys for the title then their will be some bitterness!!!

In 2 years time City's training complex/acadamey should be up and running. I also firmly believe we will be break even or even make a profit by then. Remember, City have no debt to speak of unlike...... The financial figures are out in Novemeber.

How does that work? Etihad sponsorship deal? Chelsea are still posting losses 8 years on, although they reckon they are getting close to break-even. I suppose they are technically debt free as well. So are we apart from the stadium repayments which are very manageable.

Yanited will still be top dogs in terms of the sheer amounts of cash they generate, but something has to give there sooner or later with that insane amount of debt. We will be very close to them. Abramovich should be able to organise an Etihad style sponsorship deal for Chelski. You will have to put your ticket prices up. It will be close, but I can't see how anyone else, not even Liverpool, will be able to gatecrash the top 4. Thats a bit shit really.
