Arsenal (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

It was only after I had a look at the Arsenal fan tv post-match clips this moring that I realized Arsenal won the game last night, terrific performance apparently, players mostly 7 or 8 out of 10, they're not afraid of us blud, they'll smash us on the 15th, we should be afraid of them, they're definitely as good as us, and not afraid of us, they kept saying it, so they mustn't be afraid. They're not afraid blud.

They’re shit scared of losing this lead they have and they know we have all the capabilities to catch them and beat them like we did last night.

You can already notice their arses twitching and there’s half a season to go. If we beat them in the league, their heads will go.

Funny how last night means nothing but they apparently sold out their allocation. If they won last night, they’d all have a hard on today.

Arteta was too scared to put out his best first 11 because defeat would knock their confidence. Doesn’t sound like a side completely sure of themselves.

Funny thing was when they brought on martinelli odegaard and Zinch we were in Control of the game

Vital that we won that . We also now have a good idea how they will play against us, and what players will be most effective against them. We just have to start a lot quicker in all games.

Personally speaking, explain to me why I shouldn't be happy after a win?

I've not been happy with our performances this season. We're a team in transition, whilst still trying to compete. It's like trying to change your running spikes midway through a track race.

However, a win's a win & I'm ecstatic with last night's win, as I am with ALL victories, albeit I'm not happy with our performance again.

If Arsenal weren't arsed about winning last night, why not go the whole hog & play your U21's?

You started with a strong team & brought on all your rested players late on to force an equaliser. Why do that if losing last night meant nothing?

You know as well as we do that the match was eagerly awaited for a multitude of reasons... Arteta, Jesus, Zinchenko, Arsenal Challenging for the title & City being their nearest challengers.

Question: Would you rather have won or lost last night?

Win you claim you've put down a marker & bazooka'd a title shot across our bows.

Lose & you claim it was an understrength team & you weren't arsed about winning because your concentration is on the title race.

HOWEVER, you're so not arsed about last night's loss, that you felt the need to come onto an opposition fans' forum to tell us all...

I didn’t say you shouldn’t be happy but a big deal is being made of beating a team you always beat at home. I congratulated you guys on moving forward and said i would be rooting for you in CL. I really don’t know what your beef is after that long post. My post was rather balanced. I would of preferred to win but there were positives for my side in the loss. Is that unhinged?

I agree about KDB and Gundogan (who I believe should not be offered a new contract at this stage of his career) - both were/have been poor over recent weeks but I still struggle to see why Bernardo is lauded on his performances this season either. A good option to bring on to see out this game nonetheless.
The big difference is even when he's not in the best of form Bernardo still covers more ground than either Gundo or KDB, is a little pit bull of a ball winner, and doesn't turn the ball over in the middle of the park. I really wish Pep would try Phil in the middle when he gets back paired with Bernardo. It would increase our pace and field coverage two fold without hurting our ability to go forward in the least. As an Arsenal backer frankly happy with the loss. People can call it loser or small club mentality but when you haven’t won the league in 19 years and you have a relatively thin squad you prioritize competition our biggest competition.

Pretty happy with how our team fared when Thomas was in there. We don’t play well at City no one really does. Lots of changes, and felt we outplayed City and had better chances what they were for early part of match. If City wanted to dent the team’s belief or put fear in us then on that score they failed
You have beaten once in 7 years.

We definitely have the upper hand over you and I expect that to continue in a couple of weeks

Ps if we won with 6 changes with you guys playing Haaland and Kdb on your patch it would of been a big defeat absolutely. No hypocrisy just logic. To borrow a tennis analogy you are big server on a fast surface, it is only news if you don’t hold serve. So i guess congratulations on not dropping serve
