Arsenal (H) - FA Cup | Post Match Thread

Beats booing Wenger, Xhaka, Arteta etc eh?
Lol. I never booed any of those guys live too far from UK. By the way 2 of 3 names on that list Xhaka and Arteta are not without controversy. Xhaka could lose it in past years and just Kung fu kick a guy in the chest for the crime of doing him for the ball. Really nice guy by all accounts but in past he could lose his cookies and think he was the Swiss Bruce Lee. Arteta badly mismanaged last years CL we choked away. I support all those guys but i call out mistakes as i see them

The worst home support attendance ever in the epl.
Fucking nerve of the cunts.
Half full is being kind. They blamed the bad weather yet City fans made the 200 mile journey no problem.

Pathetic fan base and imo the worst.
The weather was dreadful but City end was still rammed and it was our second trip to London in a few days after the Caraboa Cup Final.

Never got out of second gear. Arsenal, aside from the two chances which were well saved in the opening half hour, offered absolutely nothing.

Zero cutting edge, we were happy to cede up some possession and not be caught on the counter.

It won't be easy on the eye, but Pep was incredibly smart and did something Arteta wouldn't have expected.

We played over the top of the midfield and in to Haaland, who probably touched the ball more than any game so far.

Pep knows Arteta would go man for man and their press would ensure both our wide men would be facing our own goal when receiving possession.

Ortega's ability to clip the ball over really was pivotal as the game wore on.

The game showed we need younger legs in the middle and Gundo is slowing down at an alarming rate.

Bernie brought a freshness and we can be very encouraged how Zin was targeted in the air when Walker came on.

Ake is as good as any left back playing right now in the league and deserves all the praise.

Gutted for Stones again but Dias and Laporte being available will temper that loss.

Arsenal have no cutting edge and listening to their fans leaving the Etihad singing we are top of the league, was amusing.

Sounded like Scousers, but with a team half the quality.

City players deserve credit. In the last month we have played Liverpool, Chelsea twice, United away, Spurs home and Arsenal.

And the only loss in that lot was an officiating robbery.

Shame we won't follow Arsenal's lead and strengthen in this window, though.

Sorry you guys don’t look same side to me i think you are still adjusting to Haaland. I think it is advantageous that we are in one competition we care about and you guys have CL, and domestic cup finals. Straight up you are better side. But we are a young growing team didn’t feel overwhelmed by you last year at Emirates and we were a much weaker side then. I wouldn’t be surprised if your scenario unfolded, you got quality everywhere. But your form mate it is disconcerting, i watched you guys for years you don’t create chances in bundles like you used to. You guys are vulnerable and if anyone knocks off it will be Arsenal
We're playing poorly, don't look the same side you remember, are in 3 competitions which will sap our strength and ability to compete, our current form is terrible... yet with half the season gone we're only 5 points behind without having played you yet, played arguably one of our worst halves this season, yet still beat you in an FA Cup match you didn't actually care about anyway but was a great example of how Arsenal are going to win the title?

You not seeing the problem here? Your logic is all over the place.

No. I didn’t say we are big favorites to win league. The bookies do though that is their business. I haven’t seen prime city yet a little more than halfway into season. Maybe you will show up and it won’t be enough or Arsenal crumble. But yes the number of competitions you are in will hurt your form in league unless you guys bomb out

Agree with all of that. And yes, the engine room desperately needs younger legs. He clearly doesn’t fancy Phillips.

Left back has long been an issue but in light of Ake’s superb form, midfield is arguably the priority now. Like you say though, can’t see us getting the cheque book out until the summer.

You're basing that on...?

Wonder why we don’t go and get some legs in midfield this window. Do you think the lad in midfield for Brighton is good enough for us?
