Arsenal (H) | PL | Post-match Thread

Walker wasn't on his own, it was a mismatch between him and Gabriel. What Haaland and Akanji are doing at the front post when the ball was obviously going to go towards either of their central defenders is anyones guess. City fucked up as a collective for that goal. Get your tallest and best headers of the ball marking them and try and nullify the threat and if they score from there then fair enough.

Yeah I think we really need to hire a new set piece specialist. We're terrible from corners and have a hard time defending them.

It was our strength in the 21-22 season IIRC and we scored 17 goals from corners and only gave up 1 the entire season.

Go and get that twat back that left to go to Arsenal .

Thought it was a pretty horrible game if i'm honest. It says a lot when a team like Brentford can come and give us a bloody good game of football at the Etihad and our 'closest rivals' can't. I thought Arsenal were fucking disgraceful from minute one when they took our Rodri. Clearly pre-planned. What kind of man, works closely with our players for years and then plots to injure them when at a rival club. Yes thats you i'm talking about Arteta, Captain fucking Scarlett, you cheating ****. The game changed with the exit of Rodri, the momentum was lost and our passing through the lines suffered. I thought they continued to try and hurt our players in the tackle and we got no protection from Oliver. Instead he joins in the fun and allows a free kick to be taken after making sure Walker was out of position. What the fuck is that about. The club should be asking serious questions about that except we know they won't. Raya is a fabulous shot stopper and is better than how he acts. Clearly the time wasting and shithousery and feigned injuries is being coached into him by our former assistant manager.

And as for the corner debacle. I'm convinced that they have an american football coach dictating 'the play'. Its so obvious. You three stand at the back and when corner taken, surround goalie and dont let him move. Meanwhile you two get on the right side of those two defenders and don't let them move. Meanwhile you, big guy run full pelt into the space created and enjoy a free header at an empty goal. There are about five or six 'obstructions' going on but who the fuck cares about the rules. Let Erling dare to manhandle the greatest centre back partnership that ever lived though. No thats not allowed.

Bloody hell the whole second half was so painful. Back and forward along the line. Depend on Dias and Walker to take long shots. My god, the only guy on the pitch that had a proven track record (Josko) was being used as a second centre forward for most of the half. Brainless. In the end we got a goal but we have lost Rodri for the foreseeable and thats a big problem. Yes Savinho got a lovely assist but he delivered nothing in the second half when we needed to breal a low block and neither did Doku. Remember thats what they were bought for.

And then today the paper headlines are not 'Arsenal shithouses are a disgrace to the game with their cheating and violence and time wasting' No. Its 'plucky 10 man Arsenal defend valiantly against City (115) and show exactly why they deserve to be champions.

Rant over.
(apologise for the language).

Ps well played Jack and Erling and Pep please please can we get a bit of pace back in our attack. You know, instead of jogging with the ball, fast incisive passes forward.

PPS and dont get me started on the fucking tourists who come in 15 minutes late, cant find their seats, sit for five minutes, go for chips, leave early and cause maximum disruption. There are scores of them round where we sit.
Some of them even supported Arsenal and had to be evicted.

We haven't attacked with pace for a long time. Slow, passive build up most of the time.

Does he think Havertz is a coward for what he did to Rodri seconds into the game? Wasn't a red but he was a shithouse doing him like that, witht he ref not even giving a free kick. That set the tone
Agree, uses the word coward but that was them setting out to injure our player and cowardly is they way they also played

I don't understand how the likes of Foden and Kev can hit 60yrd passes to land at the foot of a running player but cant get the ball past the first man on a corner.

We have no idea if our set piece coach is any good because the fucking ball never gets into the box for anyone to try and do anything with it.
