Arsenal (H) | PL | Post-match Thread

I don't understand how the likes of Foden and Kev can hit 60yrd passes to land at the foot of a running player but cant get the ball past the first man on a corner.

We have no idea if our set piece coach is any good because the fucking ball never gets into the box for anyone to try and do anything with it.
On the other side, Saka's crosses were menacing, nice curve and over the top, it felt to me even if Ederson wasn't obstructed he wouldn't have reached it.

in the few times they got out of their half in the second half and we won the ball back we carried it forward by jogging with the ball and sideways passing. They had time to get back, have a tactical huddle, three bouts of cramp and still sit in 2 banks of 5 before we got over the half way line.

Kyle (four touch) Walker was bad, but the 2 CB's and Kova just as guilty. Our wingers didn't stretch the pitch enough and they were double marked by the time the ball trundled to them.
That's how we play no matter the situation. Slow build up which allows their whole team to set and get into position, leaving us with eye of the needle stuff to break through. Strange but effective clearly. Like you I would much rather us break, with pace and purpose.

I know its how we play. I just wish we could vary it a little.

Havertz is starting ahead of him most games. He went there for game-time apparently.

Issue is, Jesus isn't good enough to be a starter in his best position. Likely because he hasn't got the attributes to nail down what is his best position.

He's not good enough to be a winger because he hasn't got the dribbling ability or ball retention required. He's not good enough to be a striker because his finishing and offside awareness is dreadful.

His best/most consistent attribute is that he works hard. Which isn't enough. There's been plenty of players over the years who have been picked to work hard for their team.

Towards the end of his time here, he was being picked to nullify the other teams width which says a lot really. I don't blame him for leaving but he's not good enough to be a starting striker at a club challenging for titles. Arsenal probably should've realised that when we were willing to sell without too much fight. The same reason Zinchenko was let go and isn't a starter anymore either.

There's been red flags over him since Pep preferred Foden/Gundogan as 'false 9s' while Aguero was out.

So Ian Wright thinks that Haaland is a coward !! I`ll tell you who is the fucking coward in all of this, their shit house manager who didn`t want his team to lose.
I`ve sen better performances this season at The Etihad from both Ipswich and Brentford who at least came to attack unlike Arteta`s team who were shithouses and timewasters.
