Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

It's all about wanting it badly enough

It really isn't. It's about many things, mentality is only a part of the equation.

You achieve nothing without enough quality. The assumption that Arsenal have the same or superior quality as a team (including the manager) but lack in mentality is based on little more than speculation.

I think we have the better manager and players, but have been in process of rebuilding and suffered injuries to Rodri and some defenders, whereas Arsenal have been building the current team for 5 years now.

Great game overall. But we nearly blew it. The drop off when Savinho, Foden & Nico G came on nearly cost us the game. Semenyo needs to get with it.
I grew very nervous with those changes - I'd never take Cherki off when you need to keep hold of the ball for at least another 10 minutes, unless he's taking the mickey too much, which apart from his goal celebration (hehe!) he didn't, yesterday.

But my expectations of Savinho are so low, that I thought he did well enough when he came on. On one occasion I could see him just bumbling into three of them and giving the ball back but instead he had the sense to turn and play it back, keeping possession.

Pathetic to remember such a trivial passage of play, but he did what was needed at that point.

Phil is actually pretty good at picking up the pace when he comes on as a sub, not all players are.

But can we all chip in and buy Semenyo a decent set of screw-ins? That must be at least three 1-on-1s he's missed out on through losing his footing. (Do they even still make screw-in soles any more?)

Hope you guys who were at the Etihad managed to survive that, it was a real football match. These two teams are way ahead of the others, but even if we don’t win the league, it will have been fun to keep Arsenal’s fans shitting themselves, including our neighbours.
Think we all lost a couple of months off our lives after that game, my sister who sits with us had just been given the all clear for a heart scare, she said she thinks she will need to go back now.

You need to sack the Organiser, going on a trip when we play at home! I organise our golf do’s around football to ensure we never miss a game. We did La Cala before the hotel was built and the courses were named North, South and West. Enjoyed it there, remember the 1st tee (I think) on one of the courses was elevated, big drop onto the fairway.

You missed a stupendous game yesterday!
Hopefully they’re not early leavers as well? ;-)

Where’s your trophy gone?
Where’s your trophy gone?
Far far away

The scousers spent a £100-mil on Florian wirtz
City got Cherki on the cheap cheap
Arsenal bought a donkey and he’s fuckin worse
City got Cherki on the cheap cheap

Where’s your trophy gone?

So, how does a cup shock happen ? wanting it more than the other team
The Premier League and the better teams have quality players, even some better than what we have ?
But the hunger and the will to win at all costs are the difference, You have to want it more than the other team.

I think Arsenal didn't fancy the real fight ? They changed formation and dropped the striker, the truth be told is they wanted to score on the break and defend, City and Pep never set up to play for a draw and play to win

Hunger and wanting it more are the key FACTORS you can all the quality players and the mentality to handle the pressure, but once you cross the line, its dog eat dog and you better want it more than the other
