Arsenal (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I see it was the most watched Premier league game ever in America.

Not a bad audience for players like O'Reilly, Cherki and Haaland etc to showcase their talents!

It's great for this amazing club to be viewed so widely. I'm sure we would have picked up a huge numbers of fans just from this one game.

Now we just have to beat Burnley :)

Top 5 according to chat gpt (interesting the Newcastle - City game is in the top 5.)

I'm not talking about tomorrow, I'm referring to the games after that .. we all know about the Burnley game tomorrow, and a city win will only level us up on points with them anyway, so I'm not including it .... Arsenal will then play two league games before we play in the league again, because of our semi final, and if they win them our resolve will definitely be put to the test again.
How about their resolve being tested before ours? Them winning those two matches is far from a given...

flip side is that they know they MUST win both those games, we've smashed their lead once, if they don't win bo of them they know in all likelihead we'll breeze past them and it will be game over! ;-)

The chap who usually sits next to me bemoans the early leavers. Sits down 5 mins after ko, goes back down on 35 mins, comes back up 10 mins into the 2nd half.

It's baffling, why don't they just stay in the pub and watch games, as drinking is obviously a huge priority for them. Yesterday, in such an important game which could go either way and the team needing all the support they could get, they're just chatting and drinking on the concourse while it's going on.

Never understand why match day fans can’t go 90 minutes without ale (recovering alcoholic here who never bothered at games)

Interesting that Arsenal are present in all the top 3

Cant lie i thought it was a tad cringe
Same here. However, I'm miserable and always think stuff like that can come back and bite you in the arse. Happy with it if we've won the league, but some of the stuff going on at the minute is a bit premature. If Arsenal had anything about them then they'd use it all at the training ground as motivation - Areta is probably settling a skip alight though

I perfectly understood why for many having a drink goes hand in hand with going to the match. For many its a social occasion, a full day out, sometimes continuing into the night after games. I did similar when i was younger on occasion. Central to that though and probably the most important part is the game. I mean how much beer do people need? Is it really that important to cram another one or two pints down your throat in fifteen minutes? In the days we were poor on the field and maybe getting battered by halftime i totally understand people lingering on the concourse. Yesterday in a vitality important game that was balanced in a knife edge, no.

Obviously its personal choice and they're entitled to do so, it just puzzled me why. I made the post hoping somebody who watches games this way would answer, im truly curious.

I go just after 35 get my beer go to the opposite side of East Stand and watch through a vantage point until half time as we normally shooting towards South Stand . Best of both worlds .

I see both sides. As an old school fan used to us cocking things up i dread everything that i think might tempt fate to go against us. However with Arsenal and Sunday's game i felt it was a free hit for us. After our indifferent form for periods of the season we should be nowhere near winning the title. To their credit for once Arsenal showed some bravery and went for it too, knowing if they won the game they had as good as won the title.. Very fine margins but thankfully the breaks went our way, although Donnarumma's fuck up took me right back to our typical City days.

As for Arsenal being motivated by such things they have enough in the locker as it is, the Arsenal tears bottle being the latest one. If that and other piss taking couldn't do it nothing will.
