Arsenal (H) Post match thread

Because it was a woman you mean?
I’m sure male officials have been touched often in the past, without consequence.
That said, I cringed when I saw him do it. He shouldn’t have done it, and no official should be touched by a player - I’m surprised it isn’t in the rules. I reckon lots of park referees in particular would appreciate it. if it was.
crapenburg and rughead were constant wrapped around each

I hope the people that after the Leicester game were saying that Ederson can't save shit are eating a large portion of humble pie after the last couple of games. Made another couple of vital ones again today to keep us in front.
Yeah, the one that was given offside would have been overruled if he'd scored, so he still had to make the save.

great result, solid performance.

bernardo Silva - this is where he should be playing MOTM for me
Ake and Dias - two defenders who can acutally defend (save Dias inexplainable hack at that cross that he didnt need to do - but otherwise he is looking solid - seems to organise and read the game well

Great to have sergio back again - even half fit he makes a difference cause he puts teams on the back foot straight away.

Ederson - made up for his cock up at Leeds - two fantastic saves.

We have played much better than that but we looked solid

Thought we did pretty well overall, considering the absences. Ake was excellent playing out of position. First half they targeted our right side and were only denied a equaliser by an excellent save from Ederson. Cancelo and Walker couldn't deal with Saka, who was able to repeatedly dance past both of them unaided. We seemed to deal with this much better in the second half, as Mahrez did a little more defensive work and Cancelo sorted himself out. They couldn't really trouble us in the second half.

This was far from a great performance, but it was easily the best we've played since the start of the season. Bernardo was a big positive and Foden put in a lot of work pressing them high up the pitch. We lacked any real creativity, but that was to be expected with Kevin out.

where to begin? He flatters to deceive.

He had chances that he needs to be putting away.

He should pass to a player in a better position instead of shooting wide most of the time.

He does not do enough defensively.

Toothless up front and he is part of the problem.

Sane would of passed and silva but he does the step over and if he beats the man his final action is wrong. He either wastes the opportunity by shooting wide when he needs to pass to a player that will score.

I think you might be a tad biased. We get you don’t like him....

There is no doubt this is going to be a strange season due to all the covid disruption and timings. Given that and our current issues with injuries and match fitness you have to be pleased with that.

Much to be encouraged about at the back. We did look pretty toothless up front and were a little lucky to not pay for the odd moment of wastefulness in particular Foden in the first half....you just have too put those away to come out on top come the end of the season.

All things considered our position in the table at this stage is not too bad at all.

Muting "Agüero" in twitter lol. Lots of people are making a big deal out of the referee incident

We actually look like we can defend now.

Roll on a back 4 of Walker, Dias, Laporte and Ake.

The latter 3 will actually make us a threat from set pieces as well for a change.

Get Kev alongside Bernardo in the middle and things start to look very positive now Kun is back.

Good win, clean sheet, not the best display, but very important 3 points when both Chelsea and Pool threw away winning situations today.

We need to get on a winning streak, 3-4 wins in a row at least in PL would be very nice finally. WHU away, Sheffield away and Liverpool home for next 3 league fixture. We need to get som form and momentum until the Pool game and also 3 CL games in this period.

He should have tried for a cheeky elbow tit.

Joking.

With Sergio back, we have a huge psychological threat - he gets into the head of opponents.
