Wingers that are not inverted is the way to go. Getting around the back and knocking a low cross back or across the six yard box is far more dangerous than putting crosses in and giving centre halves heading practice from outside the box.First time in ages that Guardiola has opted not to play with two inverted wingers, and given the way Norwich shaped to defend, they clearly hadn’t expected that. We were able to exploit the space much faster as a consequence. Revert to Grealish and Mahrez or try something different?
