Sunday compared to last year they will have

Raya vs Ramsey
Rice vs Jorginho
Saliba vs Holding
Havertz vs Jesus

They have improved massively.

City have unfortunately got weaker as we're integrating new young players in Nunes and Doku compared to having Gundogan and Mahrez available last year, and Grealish in the form of his life. Kovacic looks to be getting it but he'll need to have a great game.

Unfortunately due to Gareth the Dim I think Arsenal are favourites for this game.
not great improvements, we'll batter them

Maybe this is the time for our Croatian lads to shine.
or there’ll be pitchforks and torches out for them :D kova’s not hated at the moment, but gvardiol. people are literally having meltdowns because he’ll probably play. even why couldn’t gvardiol get injured instead of stones. what’s the deal with wishing injuries for your own players?

anyway, many people think we’ll see gvardiol cb and ake lb because saka.
would pep do that in one of the most important games of the season when he only had him play cb in dead games previously?

on the other hand, if he plays lb and ends up in problems with saka, it’s pitchfork time for him, especially if pep won’t have akanji invert but play gvardiol lw again.

many arsenal fans are predicting an easy game and a comfortable win for them. arrogant assholes.

I’ve not heard that, but imho that’s not a true blue with that opinion
Your last sentence is 100% correct
Personally I’d play Gvardiol CB going into midfield (he’s made for that role) and Ake left back. One of the things which was so clear in the presigning videos was his ability to play out the back and carry the ball, but we’ve not seen much of that, it’s like Pep has put the breaks on him, time to unleash the beast?

Haaland
Foden KDB Bernardo
Kovacic Rodri
Ake Gvardiol Ruben Akanji

Transitions to

Haaland
Foden Rodri KDB Bernardo
Gvardiol Kovacic
Ake Ruben Akanji

I’d also be looking to play deeper and much more direct

I prefer it when our fans are not too confident, as nothing in football is guaranteed.

But it would be mad to underestimate City: the atmosphere will help us perform at our best, and a team having Pep as the manager and players like Rodri, KDB, Foden, Bernardo and Haaland is a frightening prospect.

Your comparison with last season is a bit misleading. The combo of Partey and Xhaka is marginally worse than any combo of Rice and some current player, if at all. Rice is a very good player but a bit overrated due to English bias. Passing wise he isn't outstanding. Havertz can't press like Jesus and isn't the greatest goalscorer either. Saliba for Holding is the big difference, but we have enough tools to hurt them even with Saliba in the team.

Going to be a very physically demanding game this one, several players will be blowing out of their arses at the end as Arsenal will be going toe to toe.
Absolutely no idea about what team Pep will pick but midfield and attacking wise shouldn't be a problem, defence could well be though. Does Pep start Jack and Kev even though they're not 100% fit, who plays at right back with Walker and Stones potentially missing. Big decisions coming up for Pep
