i've given up caring, if the idiot that is Pep starts with Navas at right back with Zabaleta on the bench, then the fact he is a tactical genius is a myth.
Goes on and on about why we dont win because we dont take our chances, when the obvious failure in the way he plays is defending (or lack of it) .
Clearly he's given up on the league. He didnt give us any hope in the Chumps League and its he pining his hopes on the FA Cup to save his reputation of a 'trophy winner'. He'll fail on that as well.
He harped on about coming here to learn, but 9 months in, hasn;'t learned the simple fact that the English game involves a strong defence to be successful. Yet his gung-ho arrogance is costing us. He wont change. Thats why he wont win anything at City.Cos he too stupid to adapt to our game, he expects the game to change to his style.
And he's clearly shunning the leaders and strong personalities that will challenge him like Zabaleta, Kompany so he feels like the king of his castle. Thats the reason Hart was ousted, Joe would have been a loud voice in the dressing room when things were going wrong, Vinny, would have done that, Aguero has had a say and is only playing cos Jesus is injured, Zaba will say things when they arent going right. Pep is punishing those players that fight for City when we need them by not playing them. Not saying Sterling, Sane, Ferny Kev etc arent doing their bit, but they arent the types to question the gaffer, rather say "yes sir".
I hope he changes. I hope he brings a solidity to out defence to compliment our attack. Chelsea and Spurs have no problem finding the balance, so if Pep is a genius, he should be able to too. But i dont think he will. Season is over for me.
Don't be daft. Anyone can argue that a strong defence is required but we just dont have the players. Kompany's injuries have brought his career to an end at City not Guardiola. Time has caught up on Zabaleta and that isn't Guardiola's fault either. I'm sure if he had those two players four years ago and injury free available to him then he'd happily play them. He's had leaders in all of the teams he's managed and there no evidence that he has a problem with strong characters. He might have moved the odd bad apple on in the past but the truth zaba and kompany can't be relied upon anymore. Whatever you think of navas, it's not that much of a stretch to understand why he wanted someone with a bit of pace back there.
