Giroud could well be out for a few weeks with a ankle injury. Up forward they still need to get a striker. Sanchez is a class player but he isnt a forward player that will be your typical front man. I like him more behind the forward player. I think this will either force Wenger into the market for a new striker or make him go and play either Joel Campbell , Poldolski or Sanogo up front. The first 2 I would be interested in seeing how they do as a front man as I think they could do a better job than Giroud tomorrow night be a big night for them should get into the champions league but if they miss out there be pressure on Wenger to sign more players. So hopefully they get into the champions league as Wenger wont sign in another player if they get there.

Some reports coming through now that 2nd scan has shown a fracture and he'll be put for up to 10 weeks

That is devastating news for Arsenal. They'll either need to buy or hope that Sanchez clicks as a striker.

Seems like another Wenger blind spot. You need 3 - 4 strikers in case of injuries. If Welshite is going to be his replacement then they really are in trouble.

They've got Sanogo who Wenger seems to rate, but no one else does, and Joel Campbell who looks worth a run. Walcott due back by end of September.

Of immediate worry will be beating Besiktas. Was a close game in Istanbul and now Arsenal will be without Ramsey, Giroud and Arteta I think. Not sure about Gibbs.

If they beat Besiktas then expect them to strengthen

I will absolutely piss myself laughing if Besiktas beat them, but I wouldn't expect much, they aren't very good. I can't recall any turkish side travelling well.

He is worse now. When he was 16/17 he looked good because of the fact he was young and could get a lot better - people allowed him to make a few mistakes because he was young. Now he makes the same mistakes and has gone backwards. He is brilliant under pressure and at keeping the ball but he is obsessed with finding the least space on the pitch to run into and giving the ball away. He does it for England as well - fires the ball into someone and they normally lose it, or run with the ball through the narrowest of spaces at about 4 opposition players and lose it. I don't care whether people forgive him for the occassional cigarette, when you want to make it in this sport and you haven't yet - you don't do that. He had too much too young and he is a c**t.

You can't rule out how much injuries have effected him. You can see he plays to protect his body. I have a bad knee myself and I see him doing the same things I do when I play. He has a lot of talent and I'm not going to write him off yet. It's just a case of him heeling up his body.

I was going to post something similar. I now have two bad knees and play with protecting them in mind—I can also see it in his movement and decision making.

I agree that my post was definitely harsh! But I don't think he plays to protect himself - running at and through players isn't particularly cautious! This is his make or break season I feel, Ramsay had the same last season and stepped up to the plate and some.

You are right, he still plays well above what I and IH8MUFC would be willing to do but you can still see him pulling out of certain challenges, using his outside step to shield a bit more than a player normally would, and favoring one foot more than the other, all things he did less before the injuries.

It actually reminds me of Adam Johnson's before and after with us.

Fenerbahce knocked City out of Europe many years ago. Gala got to Q/F of CL a couple of years ago

But generally I think you are right

Arsenal still big favourites but if Besiktas score first you never know, and in Ba they have a goal scorer

Portuguese media states that arsenal and sporting are advancing talks for William Carvalho, 30million on the table + Player on loan to Sporting.... In my opinion it would be a great buy for Arsenal. William was the one of the best DM in the portuguese league on par with Fernando. With Fernando being better defensively and William being better offensively

When he runs into those areas you can see at times he will just fall on the floor. Not in a diving way. In a way to protect his body, or in a way that he feels like he doesn't feel comfortable that his body won't give way. So for protection he will go to ground.

Some players just can never recover from injuries. He is in his early 20's and he already has missed more games then players in their mid to late 30's.

I hope he can recover because talent wise he is the best English midfield player. Hopefully his body will be 100% again.

As for Ramsey he went through something similar. You have to give players time after injuries. Football fans are a fickle bunch and just want to get rid if a player has a bad game.

Wenger will be able to give him time to recover.
