In American sports it doesn’t matter how awful the team is, as all franchises receive an equal share of profits made by the league. This is certainly the case in the NFL and MLS, and I assume it’s the same for baseball, basketball and ice hockey too.

Yes, MLB and NBA have revenue sharing and I believe NHL does as well. And that's why it doesn't matter if a club has a competitive team. The owner still makes money.

If by Americans you mean the Kroenkes you are 100% correct. Stan is an odious human being and couldn't care less about anything but lining his pockets, from what I've read.

Every team he owns is merely an income source. He couldn't care less what the fans want. Mediocrity to awfulness is ok as long as he makes money.

Arsenal could have it worse, Kroenke moved his NFL team from the midwest to Los Angeles all for the $$$. Fucked over a city and its fanbase and many of them have adopted my local NFL team.

Can't imagine the hate for that man if I were a St. Louis based Arsenal supporter.

The amount of vitriolic bile they've slung at us I'm glad that they are struggling and hope it continues. You have to chuckle that these self entitled picks think playing in the europa league and constantly at top of league is a crisis.

Also nice to see Henry winter suggest all fans come together to help stop owners like kroenke. Shame he didn't make the same rallying call when clubs like, blackpool, Bolton, notts county etc were being destroyed by the owners

At that time a small minority of perceptive Arsenal fans protested about the way their club was being managed but they were drowned out by the "moral majority" who loved to shout out about "financial doping" by City. Now all Arsenal fans and the morons in the media can see what was actually happening at that club where a small elite group were ripping off their own fans so they could fill their own pockets. Arsenal made a profit of £70m last year...where did it go?

To be fair, the Rams were an L.A. franchise long before they became a St Louis franchise comparatively recently. They only moved to St Louis - from L.A. - in 1995.

I'm well aware. That doesn't negate the fact they left St. Louis for a city they didn't have enough support in just 20 years prior. If anything that tells me he did it solely for the money, not the chance to take the Rams back to Los Angeles because they were there before.

He was part of the group that moved them to St. Louis in 1995, he owned 30% at the time before becoming a full owner in 2010 and then moving the team back to LA a few years ago.
