Was going to mention that Swiss Ramble thread, financially they aren't in a great position. Relying on player sales to make a profit.

They're about a year or two away from not being included in the 'top 6'. They're not doing enough on the pitch or off of the pitch.

Wouldn't shock me to see Leicester and maybe Wolves finish ahead of them this year.

And their bloggers continue to blame City

The financial mismanagement at Arsenal for the past 15 years is going to be a massive story over the next couple of years.

Circa 2005 they were one of the most popular clubs in the world, with globally recognised superstars and a huge African fanbase, and they completely failed to cash in. Their lack of commercial growth as pointed out by Swiss Ramble is absolutely scandalous when you consider Spurs have caught up to them after 3 decent seasons with zero silverware.

They are now being financially outgunned by the likes of Leicester and Watford, let alone Spurs and modern Chelsea, two sides which are refusing to make losses or borrow money.

Wenger spent a decade being told he was a financial genius and his hard work was setting the club up for a bright future at the top of the game, and instead they'll likely be condemned to the mid-table before he's 75.

And in the most competitive football market in the world, with 4 or 5 London Premier League teams at any one time and the most expensive season ticket prices in world football, that stadium that was supposed to take them to the promised land will not be full for long - they saw that already during Wenger's final season when attendances were shocking.

Agreed.

The soft bastards showed how pathetic they are during the League Cup final last year, when 95%+ walked out of Wembley when our third went in.

The Arsenal business model was used as a stick to beat City with for years led by the arch-hypocrite Wenger who coined the term "financial doping." It has now become clear, even to the most stubborn Arsenal fans, that they have been taken for a ride by their owners. The biggest con-trick pulled by their owners was to hide behind the cost of the stadium move. For starters they made a fortune on the Highbury property deal and they could easily have used external investment from their own private resources to fund the new stadium ( exempt from FFP rules) Instead of doing that and investing in the squad properly they have taken huge dividends out of the club (like the Glazers) and at the same time have hugely underperformed on the commercial side.
Arsenal are just a badly-run club, unlike City where Sheikh Mansour has trebled the value of his original investment and recouped his initial outlay by selling a chunk of the club to Chinese investors. This is not financial doping but actually just smart business. Perhaps one day someone in the media may actually report this fairly...but don't hold your breath.

is there a more waste of time club than these idiots. They build a new stadium to compete with europes elite, there match day revenue goes through the roof with an increased attendance, then they don't spend any money, and guess who they blame City, pathetic club with pathetic fans.
