Arsenal need to get real. They keep talking like they’re a top club. Manager saying they need to look in the mirror, fans forever moaning with over the top vitriol and poison.
Newcastle get stick for their fans always saying they unrealistically demand success, but whenever you actually talk to Newcastle fans they aren’t like that.
But Arsenal are!
They talk like, just because they have had great teams in the past and a big stadium, they should be doing this and that. Nothing is ever good enough.
But in reality, it’s a long time since the late 90s and early 00s when they were a top club. There are better run clubs now, clubs with better scouting, clubs who can attract better managers and better players, clubs with more ambition than Arsenal had in the late 00s and 10s (where their only ambition was to coast along as long as they got into the Top4 and got into the Ro16 of the CL to tick some money over every year - which is when they stopped being a top club).
Arsenal are no longer a top club. They’ll always be a big club with a huge support, but they are no longer a top club, and everyone there needs to reset their expectations.
