The Arsenal fans meltdown at dropping four points from winning positions shows their inexperience of being in a title race. They've had a ridiculous amount of luck in certain games this season and now it's evened out a bit. Last time I looked they were four points ahead having played a game more. I'd be happy with that. There's no guarantee we'll beat them at our place or win our game in hand. I'd have the points anyday. Even if we beat them they'd still be at least one point ahead, probably four as wobble or not they should beat Southampton who are very poor. Anyway I hope the self doubt and fear ramp up even more and they totally implode.

Sorry, it was more a general question than one directed at you!

But pick a Silicon Valley start-up and it will have seed money attached from Softbank, PIF, ADIO, or somewhere else from the region. They're central to the growth of Uber, Snap, Lyft, WeWork, and also have huge investments and stocks in Disney, Microsoft, Nintendo, Alphabet, Meta and any other big player you care to name. If you use the internet you are almost definitely using a platform where the money, in one form or another, has come from "oil money". Whether it's the platform itself, its backend support like cloud features, the hardware you're on or anything else.

The region is shifting away from a reliance on oil to sport, entertainment and communications; biomedicine; tech; and property. Those industries are in desperate need of seed money. It's why I always get annoyed at the idea of "sport washing": it completely misses the point of what is happening right now if you think what they're doing at City is about ego or reputation.

It's a pretty known fact they bribed their way into the top flight, by paying off voters. Instead of winning it by promotion, they were allowed into the top flight where they have stayed ever since.


Of course this is glorified like the Cantona kung Fu kick. Rather than anyone highlighting its immoral!
