Arsenal Thread - 2022/23

There needs to be a petition signed by fans of every PL club to demand retrospective action against Martinelli for that disgusting ‘challenge’ on Bednarek last night.

Absolutely scandalous Hooper didn’t even book Martinelli even though it was worthy of a straight red card.

Challenges like that have to be severely punished or someone is going to be seriously injured soon.

I still can't get over Partey shooting from where he did in the 98th minute. He's supposed to be an experienced player. It's the last chance of the game. I don't think an player in the city team would have done the same. It would be straight out to Grealish/mahrez on the wing.

I know kompany did it but there was still time.
To be fair, most fans in the stadium were shouting "no" at him but he doesn't understand that word

According to a rag Einstein taxi driver I have just had the pleasure of
Arsenal have bottled it and werenitid are coming through to win it
Lol
Well, if they win every game and arsenal pick up 7 points or less from a possible 18 with City picking up 12 points or less from a possible 24 then it is possible.
TLDR: they'll be mathematically ruled out before the second week of May.

That’s my fear for Wednesday night should we be winning I can see them getting frustrated and wanting to leave a few nasty tackles on our lads with the possibility of injuries

I presume you're referring to him "making a back" for Bednarek, yeah? No chance anything will be done. Kane's been getting away with it for years. The FA would be leaving themselves wide open to accusations of hypocrisy, and of protecting England's captain.

As if the FA could ever be accused of that :)-

Oh, I know. I called it a “Kane special” in the PL matches thread when it happened.

And that is exactly why we fans need to publicly put pressure on them to punish these challenges with long bans before someone gets seriously hurt (Bednarek was a few inches from his life changing).

In rugby if you take someone out in mid air you’re off, no ifs or buts

Don't get me wrong, I agree 100% with you. If Bednarek's fall is slightly different, he could end up in a wheelchair. And Martinelli knew what he was doing (he had a sly glance behind him as he was backing towards the Saints player). But the precedent seems to have been set with "OOOO".
