The UK Government gives The Rwandan Government millions of pounds a year in international aid.An odd thought, part football part politics unfortunately.
It's that time of year where everyone tries to pick holes in our financial report and doubts the authenticity. Well, Rwanda is in the news and Arsenal have had "Visit Rwanda" on their sleeves for a good few years now.
So under the same air of cynicism, are we supposed to believe the Rwandan government decided to pay Arsenal a not insignificant amount to advertise themselves? For what reason, to make themselves seem more attractive? (Would almost sounds like the nonsense 'sportswashing' that we'd get tarred with).
It seems to me that the only people around who are keen for Rwanda to be viewed positively, are the current Government with their plan to deport asylum seekers over there. I'd be checking where the Rwandan sponsorship money actually came from.
To be fair, Klopp was moaning about a genuine error that PGMOL admitted. It wasn't really a debatable decision. Whereas Arteta's entire rant and the embarrassing club statement afterwards was built on the flimsiest of complaints that Gabriel was fouled (rather than just weak). The ball out of play, the handball and the offside all had no conclusive evidence. The foul was a 50/50 decision of the kind that happens 10 times a game. Yet he was so confident that he had suffered one of the worst decisions in the history of the game.Dont know why the F.A. have taken so long to charge Legohead and its a wonder why Klippety hasnt had the same treatment , both may have had debatable decisions against their teams but to question the sporting integrity of PGMOL has to face the utmost consequences , massive fines and lengthy touch line bans as a minimum.
