The balls are different to be completely fair, noticeably so, all players will tell you this but that's why you train with them in the build up to the game to familiarise yourself with them, to bring it up as an excuse is pathetic. Did the ball magically change into the premier league ball everytime newcastle touched it?

Just seen this great quote from an arsenal fan

Arsenals lengthy injury list;
Saka.
Ben white.
End of lengthy list.
What's Ben Orange's injury.

A broken sunbed?

To be fair though I think it is stupid that a standardised ball is not used for all events. I have always thought it is also ridiculous that the pitch size is not fully standard either. It seems like a throwback to Victorian times. Does it happen in other professional sports?

Come off it the rules are different in the fa Cup depending if the ground has var or not !

A semi final of the league cup was a priority if they actually want to win something .............they aint winning the league they will find it hard to win either the CL and FA cup if your lot are making both competitions there priority now.
He did right going in strong last night even though it backfired

Then they should have prioritised it. You can't play the same 8-9 players in every competition and expect to compete. Are you a big time club looking at the league and CL or small time and looking at the league cup? Arteta should have shut out the noise and played the kids in the league cup.

I'd say every field sport has pitches that are not fully standard. There are tolerances for length and width.

Arteta's comment on the EFL balls “flying a lot” surely takes its place in the pantheon of excuses hovering between comedy and desperation, along with Klopp's comment about the grass being too dry (at Anfield!).
Am I mistaken, or years back, didn't Graham Taylor make some comment about an England game he was manager of against Luxembourg that was less than thrilling, both in result and performance, along the lines of “Well, their players didn't move much, and we're not used to that”? Or was it another hapless England manager?

City have shat the bed this season so Arsenal have to win the league. No ifs and buts, Arteta has been given a fortune to spend. If he finishes 2nd to Liverpool it's a massive failure and we should expect City back to being City next season, so and opportunity wasted.

Some of our failures are coaching based - eg how long we spend on throw ins is clearly coached. Timber has had 2 yellows this season for taking too long on thrown ins and was banned from the Brighton game. Had he been at right back and Partey in midfield no way do we draw that. But because of stupidity led by the coaches he was missing. I mean getting a yellow for taking too long on a throw in - that's pathetic.
Stopped reading shat the bed , we have a whole first team out injured most weeks , others trying to play on with injuries and are exhausted from winning FOUR titles in a row and the perfect treble, you saying we shat the bed is laughable , that is your job

Really ! our team has just done the treble, won the Super Cup, won the club world cup, done 4 pl titles in a row. Now a long injury list, players knackered both physically and mentally. No really break for 4 years, playing at the highest levels.

And you think we have shat the bed lol we have hit a wall physically and mentally.

The funny thing is the dippers only win the pl when we have a poor season. This was your chance and you have bottled it to the dippers !

We have our early leavers but the tarquins are the most flaky fans in the Prem.

I can remember just after we beat them at Wembley us playing them in the snow and there was near enough more of us in attendance than them (well not quite).

They'd seen their arse ;) over a final defeat and didn't fancy another loss in some bad weather.
We were right next to them at Wembley, and when our third went in, shitloads left.

Our young grandson couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t stay to support their team.

Here you have a prime example of how deluded and arrogant their fan base is.(via AFTV)
