Yeah I'm not disagreeing City have had some going against them too. For me the issue is consistency, but more than that I think with certain refs like Oliver it's them wanting to make it about themselves- basically deliberately giving a controversial decision to gain attention.

A properly good ref should hardly be noticed. I genuinely think with some of these guys they resent the fame the players get and want in on that action by making it all about them and then standing behind a 'technicality'. I've found the standard of reffing when we've been in the CL to typically be much higher than the PL - I'd imagine likewise for yourselves.

I don't know who the ref will be when we play you next week at the Emirates but I suspect there's a risk that all we'll be talking about afterwards is the officials.

There was a question earlier which ref we would want & we can’t give you a name. We’ve been on the end of so much shit over the years but one of our main complaints is how we always have more bookings than our opponent despite committing less fouls, less time wasting & have on average 20% more of the ball.

Trossard is a rare occasion an opponent was sent off against us. This is quite a change from a few years ago when players accumulated yellows, go down to 10 & lose 6 nil. (obviously not Rags or Dippers) Now it’s felt referees are trying to even it up. Look at Haaland, the man handling by 2-3 players is off the scale.

Referees are managing by occasion or opponent rather than applying the laws of the game.

The important thing Pep has built up, you’ll get screwed but I won’t accept it as an excuse.

All I'm bothered/worried about going into next Weekends match is which of our players, your shithouse Manager and Team have decided they will target and put out of the game in the first 10 minutes. I'm guessing they will target Haaland, luckily I reckon Marmoush will terrorise you anyway.

It's an absolute red, whether he intends to or not, as his foot flicks up his studs catch the leg half way up the shin. It's actually a really good spot by Olivar to be fair to him (probably the one and only time I will be)

At first I thought it was a yellow but looking at the replay the tackle starts halfway up his leg and you can see he rakes his studs down his leg. It's a red but also it's an extremely good spot from Oliver. It happened within a split second and there was no way VAR was going to overturn that

Nope. I can think of at least twice off the top of my head where we've been knocked out of the CL because of dodgy decisions, including a whole raft of them against Liverpool, and one particular Spanish referee who blatantly had it in for Pep and was incapable of refereeing us impartially.

To be fair Arsenal have had some 'curious' decisions this season. It will go in one ear and out the other on here for obvious reasons but quite a few decisions have been one-offs that other clubs don't get.

Examples being Rice red card v Brighton, Trossard red at Etihad for kicking away ball half a second after ref blows whistle (Oliver again), Saliba penalty for supposed headbutt against Brighton and then this one today.

I know every team thinks they are hard done by so it is what it is.
Wait until you get a player send off for "aggressive walking"; a penalty given against your keeper for making a save and then colliding with an attacker; and a goal awarded against you where the opposition player is yards offside and dummies a shot but is somehow regarded as not interfering with play, we might have a little sympathy then.

Tough at near the top, innit blud ;)

Arsenal are probably the best coached team in the league. They feel like a top Italian team more than English with their reliance on set plays and defence. They just don't have the match winners that Liverpool or City have though so will miss out.

They need a Osimhen, Sesko.. Isak .. Someone of that ilk.

The thing is nobody takes Arteta or Arsenal seriously any more when they complain about refs because it's every other week they complain. Change the record.

And I hope they bottle this season. Imagine City falling off a cliff and you still can't capitalise on the league. If the league was awarded on alphabetical order. They would probably bottle that as well!!!

Brilliant blud!!

A slight amendment required here. It is not just more than our opponent, it is the highest ratio in the division, almost every week. Yesterday it was 6 fouls and 3 cards. I'll put some more stats up when I calculate them. Watch this space.

Just said somewhere else that I'm stunned that given how shite we've been we're only 6 points off Arsenal. Shocking really. No one is putting in a challenge against Liverpool.

I'd imagine they'll be having a real good look for a proven goal scorer in the next window. They're definitely missing that.

Am I the only that saw Havertz being offside on that Arsenal goal ? He tried to play the ball right in the front of the goalkeeper after that Calafiori shot.
He definitely made a movement towards the ball with his boot, whilst being in an offside position. Don't think the Wolves players even appealed. Was clear to see.

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Sesko fron Leipzig next week. Leipzig prefer to wait until summer so I guess it's all about money now

They absolutely will go after Haaland I'm sure. Gabriel in particular. 'Chat sh*t, get banged' and all that.

I hope they ignore it and just focus on the 3 points but looking at some of the stuff that was posted on Brazilian social media I fear some red cards. Hopefully Kovacic calms down as well - he should have been sent off in the game at the Emirates last season for nasty fouls on Odegaard and Rice but, well, Michael Oliver innit.

Arsenal have had lots of key players injured plus have played over 4 halves of football with 10 men whereas Liverpool have been fortunate with injuries.

I also read that City had the most minutes of any team played by their squad in summer international tournaments followed by Arsenal in 2nd place. Liverpool were some distance away. I suspect both squads are exhausted which may explain some of the drop off vs last season. City playing in the Club World Cup next summer is unlikely to be helpful in that regard either.

Ah right. What kind of fee do you reckon?

FFS, let it go man!

You'll be going on about "that" penalty next (whilst simultaneously forgetting "that other" penalty from the year before)

There's a bit of a difference between premeditated assaults and getting a bit overly physical, but your lot are clearly trained to cheat and do damage to opposition players (that illusive extra 0.1 points per game at whatever cost, or whatever lego-head said in his PE lesson speech) so I wouldn't really expect you to be able to see the difference.

I’d expect us to get more yellow cards than most just due to the way we play tbh, it’s an inevitability.

Surely AFC Bournemouth would win it!?
